No idea how many words. | A mid-afternoon class, that she actually wanted to teach. It had been a few days since the event in the library and yes, she did commit those names to memory. She got to her classroom early and she went around setting out hardback notebooks, a textbook that they'd need, sure the students were expected to pay for the damned things but she'd already paid for the textbooks and she didn't expect anyone to have to pay her back.
Writing her name on the white board with a dry wipe marker she started to scribble some other things down. She heard the door open and close while she was doing it.
"Some~♩ One~♪ Is~♩ Eaaarly~♫" She chimed as she carried on writing.
"Pull up a pew and make yourself comfortable but! Not too comfortable in case we get through the work for today quicker than expected." She scribbled down on the board what they were covering.
My name is Noe Naruha, you can either call me Noe or Miss Naruha, I don't care which you use. I'll be your teacher for this year. I do hope we get along. Here's the class rules:-
• No eating sweets, candy, chocolate in class.... Unless you've brought enough to share. ☺ • You can drink and eat breakfast in here just make sure your rubbish goes in the bin. If you don't put it in the bin, this privilege will be removed. • Respect your fellow students. • Don't vandalize the classroom. • No sleeping in class, or you'll find a board rubber hitting you.
This is what we'll be studying:-
Early Age Weapons (Largest section) • This will involve looking at, studying and also using some of the weapons.
Current Weapons • Weapons to date.
Future Weapons • What people expect in the future, a lot of theorising and also for those who want extra credit some research and a two page essay on your thoughts to do with how people will evolve.
Now she just had to wait for others to arrive so she took a seat. Standing behind her desk for a moment she pondered on if she'd missed anything she didn't think she had but she could be wrong. Oh wait. She had. There were two weapons that she'd forgotten to pick up from reception so maybe the student teacher would grab those before arriving? Just to help her out. She also had a ... Rock. On her desk.

Another class to go to. Though this one was indoors and wasn't as hands on. It still had to deal with weapons which was fine with him. He nodded to the teacher as he entered the class. He looked at the board as he took a seat near the front. At least the rules and lesson plan seemed fairly straight forward. He nodded in approval it seemed that this teacher was on top of things. That was good at least.

in a dream i was alive. It was finally time to go to Weapon's History, one of the classes that he had a Miss Naruha for. She had helped him out a few days ago and for that he was still somewhat grateful. Then again if he hadn't gone to the library at all it wouldn't have even happened. He had no one to blame but himself and he knew that. It's what leaving the safety of his dorm room got him. Either way a bag slung over his shoulder and a breakfast shake in his hand he figured that he would have plenty of time to finish it before he got to class. He didn't count on the fact that he was actually someone excited for this class.
It was history and he'd already burned through the books that the teacher had recommended he picked up in no time at all and he wanted to know exactly what they would be studying. Stepping into the classroom he sipped the chocolate breakfast mix and looked up at the board. At least he wouldn't be in trouble for having not finished his breakfast. Sliding into a seat near the back he took out a notebook and started scribbling down what was on the board, only lifting his eyes to make sure that he was writing down the correct information and to take a sip of his breakfast. | tagged: notes: !w/e! |

It was time to get to a class and everything. This was something that was going to be rather...Interesting, because of the fact that she really wouldn't be able to add too much to class talks and everything. Though she had a feeling that the teachers of this place would be rather understanding and it really wouldn't cause any trouble. Though she'd feel rather bad if it DID cause trouble. It was already something that weighed on her mind still, but there really wasn't much that she could do about it. She had to admit that she was a little...Worried about being around too many people at once, fearing that she really wouldn't be able to keep up with everything, but that wouldn't stop her from at least trying. The only sound that was coming from the young woman were the footsteps that signaled that she was moving toward the classroom. She really didn't want to be late or anything for her first class as that would be a bad start to everything. Once she was right outside of the classroom she stopped for a moment and looked to her fake arm, a small frown was played on her face for a moment before she took in a deep silent breath and then shook her head clean of all the bad thoughts.
Though the first thing that she did? She went to the teacher and held out a rather neatly written note that was for the teacher to read. "Hello, my name is Seraianna Astear. Or Sera for short. The reason why I'm giving this to you is because I cannot speak. I've lost my voice in an accident. I hope this doesn't cause too much trouble, and thank you for your time in reading this. If this does cause trouble I deeply apologize for it now." After giving the note to the teacher she would smile a bit and then go and find a seat that was a little away from the other people as to not really get in the way. She was rather interested in this class because of the armor and everything that she brought with her from her homeland. She wasn't really sure if she should show up to class in it once so that the other people could see it or not. Though that could cause trouble in and of itself, so she might not do that. Though if people wanted to see she could show them. Then again her roommate had already seen it, so he could vouch for it if need be. But for now? She simply sat in silence and waited for the rest of the people to arrive for the class to start.

"Why did I choose this class again?"
Xion whispered that to herself a few times over while walking to Weapons History. Thinking back, she originally had the idea that if she learned about certain weapons, when push came to shove, she'd be able to know the logic behind how they work so she could grab one and use it if the case ever came up. But... just what were the odds of such a thing actually happening? It seemed like a good plan at first, but thinking of the long haul made her look at it and reconsider. It was too late now, though. She just hoped it wouldn't be too difficult.
Walking in, there was already people inside, and writing on the board. The first year's attention was glued to that even as she walked further through the classroom, only to end up hitting a seat in the front row. "Ah!" It didn't hurt as much as startle her, just stepping to the side and rounding it to take another seat a tad closer to the back. "Sorry," she apologized, just in case it caused more of a racket than she thought. Regardless, once seated, she decided it best to at least take note of what was near the bottom of the board and pulled out a notebook. The room rules seemed simple enough to remember, anyway.

Another day another class and once again another alarm clock would fall victim to Alvin's right arm as he got up and growled for a moment," You think i would learn from something like this and yet it still happens," jumping out of bed he would look over to the large agenda like calendar on the wall to see that his Weapons History class was today and luckily he had been studying for it due to Miss Naruha's generosity. Grabbing his vest he would throw it on forgetting the jacket as he felt too good to put it on. Leaving out of the room with a sleeveless vest, black pants and black shoes along with his backpack full of notes Alvin made his way to the classroom. With a little time to spare actually he took the scenic route walking through various other hallways and even stopping to use the bathroom at the same time just to waste a little more time.
Finally he would arrive to the classroom which was already getting a bit full with four people already in there. One of which he had already identified as Creed but the other three he did not know. His eyes slowly moved over to Miss Naruha in which he would he would nod," Hello Miss Naruha," looking for a desk he would take one by the table where he would sit his things down and wait for class to begin.

Seijuuro ran through the halls as he tried to get to the classroom on time, he had his bag one had while a large looking sandwhich on the other. Each step he took one bite out of it. He knew that this wasn't the way to make a good impression but if he hurried now he would make it on time. Taking this class would help him understand how to make better use of his weapons. Maybe he could learn how to make a better weapon by studying from the weapons of the past. The possibilites were there, all he had to do was learn them while he was in that class.
He made a mad rush to the last hall where his classroom was, once he saw the door open he placed his sandwich in his mouth and used his free hand to hold on of the door's edges to bring himself into a stop and turn into the classroom. Once he came to a complete stop he took out the sandwich from his mouth and took another bite from it. He looked at the board and begain to make quick notes from it, the most important one was that he could at least eat in class. He stuffed the last of his sandwich into his mouth and tried to swallow as quick as he could the contents before looking at the instructor. "Guess I made it in time, that's good."
Seijuuro took the closest seat and place his things out on the floor. He let out a small sigh and glanced as Seraianna and gave her a small wave before taking out a notebook for class. He wondered if anyone else was going to come or was he the least person they were waiting for before the bell rang.

No idea how many words. | Well it seemed everyone was here and seated. However. She also noticed that the student teacher had been the last person to arrive and noted that down on a piece of paper. Slowly she stood and excused herself.
"I need to go and pick something up from the reception. I would've thought they'd have notified the student teacher to grab it for me so I didn't have the leave the classroom unattended but I guess I was wrong eh? Anyways, Mister Nanami, you're in charge while I go grab the things from the reception." Heading out the door she was glad to be wearing low heels as she rushed to the reception and then grabbed what was needed before heading back. Once back she went and set the items on her desk.
"As you can see on the board there's the whole lay out of what we'll be doing." She sighed as she perched on her desk a little.
"Now the first section is the largest, we'll have a lot to cover in it. Originally the plan was to have everyone introduce themselves. However. Due to unforeseen circumstances we'll skip that! Let's get right in to this yeah? On your desks you'll see textbooks. Please turn to page ten the first nine pages are just garbage." She chuckled as she waited for everyone to turn to the page and then she glanced at the paper on her desk. She knew where she was going with this, on her desk she had a couple of ancient weapons. A sling, a club, mace with a head made of stone.
"The first types of weapons we'll be going over are the most basic of basic. The stone age weapons then we'll move on to the copper age. Now. Can someone tell me what... This is? If someone else would like to point out weapon that we see on a day to day basis that'd be amazing." She picked the rock up and tossed it up and down in one hand.
"Come on~ Anyone'll do~ Just blurt it out..." She'd wait for someone to answer before continuing.

"It's a rock. Probably the crudest weapon in history though effective none the less. One of that size was generally used as ammunition for a sling shot. Though larger ones could be used for other means. Most commonly the larger ones were used for bashing in someone or somethings head in." Even though he had opened his page to where the teacher had asked he had only glanced at the page before answering. Most of the weapons on her desk were rather basic though that would be expected since they were starting in the Stone Age after all.

No idea how many words. NOTES -GJ Aster use a bright dark color on a dark bg, are you trying to fuck my eyes up?? Try using plum next time.- | "It's a rock. "Gooood, honestly I was just expecting someone to say 'a rock' and that be it. Guess I have a decent class~ Now yes we know it's a rock that it can be used for bashing someones head in or something equally monstrous but when you take this rock smash it up and grind it down a bit you can do a lot with it, you could use it to make a flint arrow head and attach that arrow head to some wood. Could use it to make one of these." She picked up the mace and waved it around a bit.
"Maybe combine little stones with a sling but making the sling wouldn't be so easy to make, of course people did evolve to actually make the tools needed to make those sorts of things, to hollow out pieces of wood and make darts for blow pipes. They're some of the most primitive weapons, and they didn't understand the use of magic and the like at that point in time at all. So it was quite a lot of hard work." She smiled as she sat perched on her desk.
"So that leads me back to my other question, anyone know any other weapon that's primitive that we see each and everyday?"

There wasn't much that the young woman could really do right now as she wasn't really able to say anything at the time, or well at all. And she felt that she might have been the reason why the introductions might have been skipped, but then again it could have been the timeframes and everything because some of the students arrived a little later than normal and the fact that the teacher needed to leave the room to get things for the class. But she was paying attention to what was being said and done. And when the talk of the rock happened and everything else that was said happened, she was tilting her head a bit. Another weapon that people saw each and everyday? Well there were a couple ideas in her head but she wasn't sure if she could really take part in this or not, so she kinda sat in silence...Not really knowing if she should do anything or not, but when no one else seemed to be saying anything? She slowly got out her notebook and started to write something down on it and then she looked to the teacher for a moment and then back to what she wrote. ...Maybe this wasn't the best of ideas to join this class...
Either way she wrote a little bit after what she first wrote and brought it up to the teacher. "There are a couple of different things that could be used here, but think the main would that I would say would be wood. As in trees. They could have been made into sharpened sticks for a spear or a stabbing tool, used to place some of the rocks on to make stone clubs and axes, and as you said the arrows. But um...That's just my guess. And I'm deeply sorry for not being able to speak. I know it makes things harder, but I'll still try my best..." After that? She smiled a little bit and then went back to her seat, after all she wasn't about to write anything on the board without permission, so this was the second best thing that she could think of. And even still she could be completely wrong, so if that were the case? At least it was only the teacher that saw it.

No idea how many words. | She saw Sera writing and she then watched as the young lady that couldn't speak brought the note up to her.
'There are a couple of different things that could be used here, but think the main would that I would say would be wood. As in trees. They could have been made into sharpened sticks for a spear or a stabbing tool, used to place some of the rocks on to make stone clubs and axes, and as you said the arrows. But um...That's just my guess. And I'm deeply sorry for not being able to speak. I know it makes things harder, but I'll still try my best...' Now the woman nodded a bit.
"Okay so Sera said wood as an answer, because they can be used for a great many different things. That's a good answer, a very good answer actually but? There's one before even that. One that we don't even realize is a weapon until we're forced to use it.... Our body... Our hands, feet, even our head, are all weapons that we can use if things really push us that far, that would've been the first thing that people did. Punch each other to cause damage and bodily harm, possibly kick each other, our body is one of the most valuable weapons we'll ever have. It doesn't run out of ammunition, it can actually go beyond what we assume are the limits it possesses, we have a mind so our knowledge and our sense of logic and warfare is a weapon in and of itself." She mused.
"Okay so if no one has any questions? I'd like you all to turn to page six of the textbooks in front of you, we'll be starting there, I'll be having weapons from the academys vault brought here to this class each day, now we will be doing some sort of minute training with some of them or more replicas of them, so we understand just how it would have been used when it was a good weapon of its time." She smiled as she shifted to the board and slowly wiped what was on there off.
"We shall be starting todays lesson with The Sumerians of the Copper Age... Now these guys were... Rather brutal... Okay first question... Can anyone tell me why it's called the Copper Age?"

The first year did as instructed and flipped to the next page. She felt a little behind, not being able to think of an answer to the previous questions, let alone answer them. They seemed to have the answers near flow out of their mouths... or writing, in one girl's case. But now came the next question about why the copper age was the copper age. This one... she actually had at least an idea about.
"I believe the Copper Age happened when someone was able to smelt copper ore into a material that could be used. Not only weapons, but even more common things like tools and jewelry."

No idea how many words. | "Good miss Urbain. Very good. Wasn't expecting a first year to know something like that." She commented with a smile and then she actually sat on her desk rather than perching against it. One leg crossed over the other as she did. "Now we think the copper started around 3500 to 2300 BC. The Sumerians were the first people use copper weapons. Now other cultures used copper for various other things, such as decoration or for special ceremonies, sometimes even things like crockery or other useful items. What the Sumerians found was that weapons made of copper could be sharpened easily where more sturdy than a stone weapon and were a lot more deadly because they cut through flesh much easier. As such? Copper weapons replaced stone extremely quick." She stated with a smile. "If you look in the text book you'll seen an image of Stone Weapons and then one beside it of Copper Weapons as you can see, the copper weapons look like they'd be more effective. They aren't weapons for bludgeoning, and they don't snap as easily as a stone weapon would. The reason why they wouldn't snap as easily or break as easily is because the material, copper, is much more flexible." She continued and then she leaned back a bit. "At the time that copper was being made in to weapons it seems that the bow and arrow became a lot more popular than spears. Now the reason for this would be that the bow and arrow don't use as much copper and they're actually more accurate than a thrown spear. The bow and arrow also have a lot more range on them. So they were much more desirable for combat. Though as we know, if someone gets in close with a spear they can do some serious damage. The only problem is, they have to GET to the target first." She explained and now it was time for another question, just to make sure people were actually... Listening. "So can anyone tell me another popular weapon that was around during the copper age and why it was popular?" She asked. Now she just had to wait.

in a dream i was alive. He knew that unless he spoke up and actually answered something he wasn't going to get any points for this class. Apparently interaction was a big part of it and he was just going to have to learn to deal with that. "Khopesh... from Egypt. Because they could be used as an axe, a sickle or a sword. It eventually became a symbol of power to be able to wield one." He knew of other weapons but considering the Khopesh was the most similar to his own weapon it was the one that was closest on his mind at the moment. | tagged: notes: !w/e! |
