HISTORY Two attorneys at law on opposites sides of the fence is not how most people would meet each other. Nihil's parents did, and somehow after meeting during a case, they formed a relationship that lead to marriage and then to having a daughter. Nihil's mother retired from law to be a stay-at-home mother while her father continued the practice. Turned into a practical family, no? As Nihil would gladly tell others, her parents were loving, but very strict. Once rules were set, they were not to be broken, and Nihil knew the consequences all too well if they were not upheld. Growing up, her discipline did not waver in or out of her parents' supervision. Her parents always explained why they did what they did, and she was understanding as it all sank in. However, this doesn't mean she lead a sheltered life. She made friends in her neighborhood and played with them often. Of course, if she had a curfew, she had to follow it, and no matter how much some friends urged her to rebel, she normally didn't. But someone like her wouldn't rebel without a reason. One night when she was 14, two of her friends had plans to enter a certain part of town. Dangerous territory where, according to her father, there were rumors of gangs ready to start an urban war soon. They tried to get Nihil to join them, but she retaliated in telling them not to go at all. At first, it seemed that they listened to her, but then she got a message saying they were still going through with it. It was past curfew, and she wasn't even supposed to be near there, but Nihil snuck out and got her bike, racing down there to find her friends being confronted by a gang. Things looked bad, but she quickly called the police before intervening and buying enough time for the authorities to show up. Nihil was brought in for questioning and released soon after. Her parents, though hearing the story, punished her regardless, but she didn't feel any guilt for what she did. For all she knew, Nihil could have lost her friends that night if she didn't jump in. It was a small sacrifice for what could have been. Some rules were only obstructions to the greater good. Too much red tape... Since that day, Nihil knew what she wanted to do. Once she told her parents that she wanted to study to become an attorney herself, they immediately started searching for an appropriate school. They made a list, letting Nihil choose which school she wanted to attend. After personal research was done, she chose Eden Academy amongst the others. But is it really for the studies that she chose this school? Or is there hidden reasons? Whatever the case, she doesn't want her parents to know. After all, this was her future.
