The pain in her head just wouldn't let up, plus the small trail of blood going down the side of her face felt like it kept wanting to get into her eye. 'Just keep pressure there, Xi. It's probably not as bad as it feels...' She kept telling herself that by the time she made her way to the medical wing, catching the desk attendant's attention almost immediately.
"Oh my god! Honey, what happened?" ... She didn't need to hear that panic in her voice...
"I think I... hit my head on the desk." It was the only logical thing Xion could come up with. She was shelving some books, using a footstool to get the higher shelves filled, then she remembered slipping before hitting something hard and sharp. The only things close by was her bed, a night-stand, and her desk.
"Alright, let's get you to a room. We'll tell your contact that you're in--"
"Sol." The lady seemed a bit surprised. "The night councilor, Sol. He's my guardian here. Please get him." To be honest, she didn't want Sol to worry about her, but he was going to find out one way or another, so it might as well be now. She just hoped he didn't get the wrong idea and think someone else did this to her.
"All right then. Now come on, we need to get that bleeding stopped." Xion said nothing more as she was escorted. The quicker she could get this pain over with, the better. Tag: @sol

| Tosay he wasn't worried would've been insulting to the highest degree, he had no idea what had happened to Xion as of yet and was currently content in an appointment with a rather odd first year who was convinced that inanimate objects were actual living things. He listened to the problems, offered a little advice but always warned them that that was his personal opinion and what he would do. He also told them that it was their choice if they followed what advice he'd given and they didn't necessarily have to listen to what he told them. Of course he was working over time. Giving himself something to do a few hours before his shift actually started.
When a nurse knocked on his door and he told her to come in she looked at the student and then to Sol.
"Um... Xion Urbane is in the ward... She asked for you specifically..." He dropped everything he was doing. Excusing himself in a professional and yet concerned manner without freaking out but still worried that something absolutely horrendous happened to Xion. He'd even left his shades behind on his desk and his smokes, he speed walked in to the ward and then he went and paced the area a little bit arms folded as he stared at the floor.
"She's all right, we just had to get the bleeding to stop. We may need to keep her for observation though just in case she has a concussion." He nodded.
"Do whatever you need to." He then was allowed to go and see her. He immediately made a beeline for her though he didn't rush, it'd be bad form to do so, even still his pace was quickened as if it was urgent. Though the second he was within range of his whispers being heard he dropped his voice.
"Stupid question ahoy, but are you all right?... What happened?... Did someone do this to you?... If so I want names..." He had a rather deep set frown as he spoke to her. Annoyance wasn't even the half of it, most of it was concern. He didn't like it when things like this happened. He'd already lost too many people he was fond of to let them Xion be roughed up by some shady little punk.
"... They want to keep you here to make sure you've not got a concussion...." |

"It seems the bleeding stopped finally," the nurse said as she finished patching up the injury. "How is your head? Has the pain went down any?"
"A little..." Xion really hasn't been focusing on it. Sure, it really hurt, but she tried to keep her mind on other thoughts as to not let it get to her.
"At least it's not getting any worse. I'll leave you alone for a bit, all right? Your guardian should be here in a moment."
As the nurse left, Xion was left alone with her thoughts. She tried to remember what exactly happened after she fell. Which direction did she fall in? Did she bring anything down with her? What if she left some blood wherever it was she fell at? The last thing she needed was her roommate thinking something horrible happened... Oh! What if she was kept overnight? That would only worsen the ideas that could swirl around in her head. Maybe they could send a note or some sort of message to her?
But then came a familiar figure, and he lacked the glasses for once. That was quicker than Xion thought, but knowing Sol, he must've rushed as fast as he could. Whatever, though. She was just glad to see him.
"Stupid question ahoy, but are you all right?" Xion nodded slightly, putting a smile on her face to sell the act. "What happened?"
"Uh, well..." Okay, just how exactly should she explain this?
"Did someone do this to you?"
"Huh?!" That was exactly what she didn't want him to think.
"If so I want names..."
"No, no, no! No one did anything to me!" That sudden burst of energy got her head hurting again. "... No, it was an accident in the dorm room. I was shelving books higher up in the bookcase, so I used a footstool to help me reach. I believe I slipped while reaching out and fell then hit my head on... something. I think it was the desk..." The more she thought about the event, however, the more she drew a blank at the last part. "I... don't really know for sure. I just know it hurt. I found myself on the floor after that, got up and put my hand on my head, found blood, then rushed here."
But that blank part... was it just a few seconds gone from memory? She didn't even check the time when it happened. She could have been knocked out for a bit for all she knew. But if that was the case, wouldn't her room mate have found her? Ugh... Too many questions. Head hurts too much.
"... They want to keep you here to make sure you've not got a concussion...."
So, her suspicion was right. "I had a feeling... Hey, Sol? Is it possible I could have someone send a message to my roommate about what happened? I want her to know that I'm fine."

| The king of dragons arched a brow for a moment.
"No, no, no! No one did anything to me!" He frowned a little, yelling wasn't going to help her head any, and it seemed that she realized that too because she lowered her voice back to it's usual tone.
"... No, it was an accident in the dorm room. I was shelving books higher up in the bookcase, so I used a footstool to help me reach. I believe I slipped while reaching out and fell then hit my head on... something. I think it was the desk..." She thought it was the desk? Didn't know for sure?
"I... don't really know for sure. I just know it hurt. I found myself on the floor after that, got up and put my hand on my head, found blood, then rushed here." Well that was good at least.
"I had a feeling... Hey, Sol? Is it possible I could have someone send a message to my roommate about what happened? I want her to know that I'm fine." He nodded.
" Sure, I'll make sure she knows but it's good that you came here first and I'm glad you did... You probably don't know what you hit because you couldn't see what you fell back on... Could've been much much worse...." Sol commented before he sat himself down across from her.
"I'll stay here with you till they let you leave... Then I'll walk you back to the dorms.... Better safe than sorry...." He nodded with a sigh then he pinched the bridge of his nose a little bit. There really wasn't much he could do right now save for sit and wait.
"About the other day...... Sorry....."

"Sure, I'll make sure she knows but it's good that you came here first and I'm glad you did..." Don't know why anyone else wouldn't. It's the most basic thing. Get hurt? Go to someone who can take care of it. The medical ward just seemed like the best place. You probably don't know what you hit because you couldn't see what you fell back on... Could've been much much worse...."
"Probably." That was a likely scenario. Just fell in such a fashion that she couldn't see what she fell on, therefore can't recall. At least it was better than possible partial-memory loss. If that was the case, Xion actually having a concussion was very likely. That's the last thing she wanted.
"I'll stay here with you till they let you leave... Then I'll walk you back to the dorms.... Better safe than sorry...."
Xion opened her mouth to object, wanting to say that she was fine and he shouldn't worry about her, but stopped herself. Just how likely was he to listen to that anyway? Besides, like Sol said, it was better to be safe and have another person here than to be sorry and not have a person be there to help her in case the worst should come about. Sighing, with a small smile, Xion nodded lightly.
"About the other day...... Sorry....."
The other day? There was a lot that happened the other day, now that she thought about it. Some of it awkward, even. But still... "Why are you apologizing?"

| Sol gave a sigh for a moment. How would he even respond to all this? How should he respond to this?
"Why are you apologizing?" Why was he apologizing? Because he was being an idiot? Because he wasn't doing his duty? Because he hadn't been thinking with his head? Because she was far too young for someone like him or maybe it was more he was far too old for someone like her? Because human lives are finite and it was a stupid idea in the first place? Because he couldn't just go and say hello to her parents and everything be perfectly okay? Because he should have just kept it to himself? Perhaps because he should've just left and slept when he could before that all happened? He wasn't sure what to even explain first.
"Because I shouldn't have said anything in the first place. I'm old enough to know better than this. I'll lose my status as a Guardian Beast if I'm not careful and don't know you truly or form a true bond with you." He began to explain though he wasn't done. Not by a long shot. This was going to take some explaining.
"I should have spent more time with you and I'm... Far.... Far too old for a young lady such as yourself... I've had time to think about it and it most likely wouldn't be the best option for me, or for you. Your parents would most likely despise me, and I'd outlive you and I doubt you'd stay attached to me like that for years... " He gave a smile though it didn't last very long. He would be quite content to just sit back and watch her live out her life, so long as she was happy and safe. That was all he really wanted for her.
"You need to experience life... So I'm going to sit back and at least let you live it... The way you want too... My job is to protect you, you're pure of heart Xi. You're a good person. So you at least deserve that much without me butting my head in and getting in the way of things that could be wonderful." Sol managed to get out, it hurt, a lot, yes. It tore him up inside to actually close himself off from her like that but it was as gentle as he could be and they were wise words. Very. Wise Words. This was how it should be. Professionalism at it's finest. He knew this was wrong, that it went against certain codes and so, he was trying to end it before it began. If by some miracle though she did reciprocate those feelings? He most likely wouldn't know what to do. He still wasn't entirely sure if this was the right choice even now.
"I just want you to know, I will always be around, I won't be far from your location should you need me and if you really need it... I can teach you or train you to fight so that if you ever do run in to trouble? You have some sort of chance against your opponent." He sat there twiddling his thumbs. Sol was never a nervous person but he was right now. It was still very odd that he was nervous, not that it actually showed on the surface. When the nurse came back however to check on the girls head wound. Sol moved so that she could get to the girl and he turned to look out of a window arms folded across his chest. She was still just a girl. He was an old man in comparison to her. He really should know better than to get attached to someone who was barely legal.

Xion sat there, listening carefully, not saying a word. It bothered him that much? True, it did leave Xion thinking a good while for the rest of that day, but even she was able to put it on the sidelines. She was able to wake up the next morning with the subject weighing heavy in her mind. Why couldn't he... No. She had to remember, he's lived a long time. Whatever experiences he had before, it must have played a hand in this. At least, that's what Xion figured. It's not like she was an expert on this stuff. She was only sixteen, and she had Sol being her Guardian only for so long.
Hearing him say he was going to let her live her own life was fine and all, but she couldn't help but worry he was wanting to distance himself on an emotional aspect. Yeah, he made mention of a 'true bond' and all that, but something just didn't really sit well with her. Xi wasn't entirely sure what, but it felt a little unnerving. Then again, it could just be her over-thinking things...
But the mention of him teaching her how to fight... "Well, I... kinda was thinking about taking a combat class later on. Maybe if you teach me some, I could be better prepared for it?" It wasn't in the near future, but the idea had crossed her mind. Maybe in the next year or after she finished a couple other classes.
"But Sol," Xion made sure to look him straight in the eyes. "I want to ask a question. Why are you... I mean, why is this bothering you so much? I know you explained a lot, and maybe you already gave the answer and I'm probably not really catching it..." Her gaze broke as she looked away. "Actually, that's probably the case..." The last thing she wanted to do was repeat questions.

| The girl was all too quiet when he spoke. She didn't interrupt, she didn't say anything really, she just... Listened. Though once he was done explaining himself. He heard her pipe up.
"Well, I... kinda was thinking about taking a combat class later on. Maybe if you teach me some, I could be better prepared for it?" He nodded.
"Then that's what I'll do." He stated with a small smile.
"But Sol," He blinked and looked at her, why did she seem different just now? Was she being more serious than usual?
"I want to ask a question." He arched a brow.
"Why are you... I mean, why is this bothering you so much? I know you explained a lot, and maybe you already gave the answer and I'm probably not really catching it... " Then she looked away.
"Actually, that's probably the case..."
"Don't doubt yourself like that..." He spoke with a small smile and then he took a deep breath. How should he explain this?
"I'm a dragon... You're a human.... It would work, no that's a lie.... It's worked out before... Sort of... But seriously Xi..... I've been married and in relationships more times than I can count........ None of them ended well..... They're all dead......... Simply put I don't want the same thing to happen to you... I've already lost wives, children of my own.... It's not exactly something I'd like to experience again if I can help it so perhaps it's selfish in a way." He sighed as he closed his eyes. Now that dark truth was out in the open he waited for her to get upset. She probably wasn't strong enough to handle that but she... Did ask. He could of course be wrong and she might understand it fully and not judge or get upset. He'd just have to wait and see.

The girl smiled when Sol said he would teach her. She was sure it would help in the long run, and she couldn't think of anyone better to give her some instruction. Though she didn't think it would be easy if he did so, but that wasn't what she was looking for. Xi just wanted to be prepared to at least some degree.
"Don't doubt yourself like that..."
Xion's gaze went back to her Guardian at that statement. It wouldn't have been the first time she forgot something, after all. The first year just knew not everyone liked to repeat themselves several times over. But given the way Sol sounded, whether he did or didn't, he didn't seem to mind telling her. So she sat there and listened, closely. Though how he explained it wasn't exactly how she expected it.
She had to take a moment to let it all sink in. That was... more than a little surprising, to say the least. So what was how he felt, and what he had went through. Xion had a feeling that someone like him must have gone through a lot, but not like that. However, she wasn't angry. After hearing all of that, how could she be?
"... Um..." The only question she had now was how to put her response. "It's fine. I... probably don't fully understand what that must be like but just hearing it... I at least think the reason is justified." Xi put a small smile on, showing her sincerity, but it faded just as quick. "But promise me you won't be insulted when I say this?"
The girl took a small breath. Best to just outright state it. "I like you, I do, but... I'd want someone closer to my age, you know? And I'm not exactly in a rush to find someone either..." She looked down to her feet. "No, that's not it... Not exactly..." Okay, round 2. "I mean, the first part is true, but... No wait, maybe that was all right the first time."
Okay, this was a disaster...

Tags/Notes/Words/Etc:- Tagged for Xion UrbainNote: If you wanna end it we can do on your next post. | Well this didn't go quite as he planned, if anything it went completely wrong. So now he simply sat and listened.
"... Um... It's fine. I... probably don't fully understand what that must be like but just hearing it... I at least think the reason is justified." He tilted his head and arched a brow at the smile.
"But promise me you won't be insulted when I say this?" He gave a small smile.
"I'm not going to be insulted easily." He stated as he stayed put for now.
"I like you, I do, but... I'd want someone closer to my age, you know?" He chuckled.
"And I'm not exactly in a rush to find someone either..." A quick nod of the head as he stood up. Even if she was looking at her feet he couldn't help but smile. It was fine. He could leave this alone. Well alone and find someone older, that much he was sure of. Besides humans were fragile creatures.
"No, that's not it... Not exactly... I mean, the first part is true, but... No wait, maybe that was all right the first time."
"Xion stop. Just get some rest okay? I'll be in my office and don't worry about it too much, I'm pretty easy going when it comes to things like this so I can take no for an answer." With that he actually headed off to his office.
"I gotta get back to work so you take it easy all right?" Then he was gone. He needed a smoke and he also needed to get back to work, he couldn't slack off because of his charge sadly. He'd made sure she was all right and apart from being very awkward nothing seemed to be too bad. So with that said he left her alone for now.

"Xion stop." That actually made her stiffen a little. "Just get some rest okay? I'll be in my office and don't worry about it too much, I'm pretty easy going when it comes to things like this so I can take no for an answer." Okay, stiffness gone. At least she didn't have to worry about things being that awkward in the future now. The last thing she wanted was such thoughts constantly lingering in each other's minds.
"I gotta get back to work so you take it easy all right?"
"I will. Bye Sol." She watched as he left the room, letting out a sigh when she felt no one would really hear her. It was kinda funny how moments like this could help clear certain things from the air, but if only she didn't have to be kept there for so long.
Speaking of which, Xion put a hand up to where the small wound was, finding it wasn't hurting quite as much as it was before Sol came in. In fact, it was becoming a bit more bearable. But it was just for one night, right? Sure, she would like to be in her own bed, but it was for her own good... Although a small part of her wanted to say 'forget this' and just walk out... Though Sol would likely get on her for it if she did.
But that's just how life works, she guessed.
