More specifically a surgeon, but it seemed his hands weren't steady enough to make it through cutting into animals in early age biology classes. He tried to a grip on himself to be able to continue in said endeavors, but to no avail. Not content with giving up on his dream entirely, he managed to at least get into medical school on an RN program. Years of medication made it feasible to progress through the classes, even if some struggles were encountered. The biggest being applying an IV to a patient. Seeing the issues he had his teacher suggested he practice on himself. Somehow the advice worked and Kato was a registered RN with minimal set backs in his path. For the first few months he worked at a small time clinic to get his bearings, then applied for a job taking on the night shift at the Institute. Initially it was exactly what he wanted. Good hours, great pay, few incidents. Then more nurses started flowing into the night shift. If there was one thing he couldn't stand, it was other nurses. Still, he put up with it and made acquaintances elsewhere on campus over the next two and a half years.
