PERSONALITY TRAITS

Jane is pretty much an open book, but not in the sense that she'll tell someone every little detail about herself. Whatever she's feeling, she'll either say outright or it will be plastered all over her face and posture. As such, she is very outspoken, often speaking something before really thinking about it. Although this can get her into more trouble than she can chew more often than not.

The girl is rather spirited, though. Coming off as a tom boy with how energetic and competitive she can be. She's the one cheering in a group, the one growling in a fight, and is more stubborn than a mule as she gets back up despite repeated failure. However, she does have her feminine side, and usually shows whenever she's out with friends. As she says, she normally gets feisty whenever she gets in the 'heat of the moment'.

But despite her persona, Jane isn't all that spectacular, and she knows it. She isn't the star player of a team, not the smartest kid in school, and is a tad lacking in the popularity department... to put it all lightly. All of her achievements are met with par expectations, despite how hard she tries to go above and beyond. Whenever the subject is brought to her attention, it takes a lot for her not to get depressed over it, and can take about a day or two to bounce back if she does. She wants to do everything in her power to not end up being labeled a 'Plain Jane'.

Jane was born to an investment banker and a stay-at-home mom, six years after her brother. Growing up, she was like your typical little girl, though she showed early signs of her 'go get 'em' attitude when she was six herself. She participated in anything she could as she got older, be it hop-scotch with neighborhood kids or games with her brother.

In school, any sport that was in season, she would try out for. Although, she was never the one that stood out for any spectacular skill, and even in her tryouts, she was beat out by others that showed natural talent. The only sport she was able to get into was basketball, though it was mostly due to a friend of hers convincing the coach, and she wasn't used that much in actual games.

Jane was painfully aware of her stunted ability to progress, which made her want to prove everyone wrong. Though the more she tried to push herself, the more she realized that she wasn't getting that far ahead. It really hurt her, but instead of some form of depression taking over, she just got angry. One time, she was so angry that her parents found her wrecking her room before they stopped her, causing her to break down into tears in their arms. Jane felt so worthless, like no matter what she tries to do, no matter what she puts her mind to, she keeps coming up short and will never amount to anything at this rate.

Wanting to do something for her, her dad found Utopia Institute and brought it up to his daughter. After much discussion, Jane decided she could give it a shot, feeling the freedom it offers would be something she may very well need. She didn't want to be faded in the shadows. She wanted to stand out, and show the world that she was actually good at something.
