However that all changed one day when the lab he was working out needed volunteers for the experiment they were doing. They were trying to give humans some of the resistances that some of the deadlier monsters had. Because of how dangerous the experiment was though they had practically no volunteers and after the first one died no one else was eager to participate. Since he had always thought humans were to weak and fragile Sanctus volunteered himself. The experiments were extremely painful since they had to fuse the DNA of the desired creatures with his own. On more then one occasion he had thought he was going to die. He didn't let this deter him from going through with the experiments though. Once the experiments were over it didn't seem like there were any ill side effects except for an extremely high metabolism. He was stronger and faster then before and even had perfect night vision. He was also immune to almost all known toxins and poisons. After some time the side effects started to present themselves. The first one was a maddening bloodlust that took him a considerable amount of time to learn how to control. Even after getting it under control though though he still has a profound love for the site of blood and spilling it.
