"Well, you sure know how to get the heart beating..." After the young man managed to catch up and get on the wall that was what he said. "I hadn't had to run like that since... well, since a long time, now." She laughed a little bit at that. "It's certainly one way to get the heart racing. There's other ways you know." She stated with a sly smirk. "This is where you call home, huh? Well, kind of.""Indeed, now we just go down." She said that as she hopped off the wall and in to the grounds when she did the guards that were stationed immediately rushed over and pointed weapons at her and her new friend, only the dropped them immediately when they actually saw who it was. "Sorry Miss Discordia." "Captain." "Back to your posts. There should be a third where is he?" She didn't sound impressed. "Um..." "Strip joint." The other guard facepalmed. "He shirked his duties to go and stare at some womans rack? Ugh... You'll tell him he's to report to me when he gets back. Even if I'm at the academy, he will go there to find me and I will deal with him accordingly." She stated as she now strolled by the two and beckoned Rai to follow. Towards the main steps she went to the building that towered high up above most things in this country. The doors were opened for her and the young man and she simply strolled inside. "Take a good look around as we walk, I'll keep the pace nice and easy to keep up with to give ample time for you to look about." She didn't look back at him instead keeping her pace even and easy to keep up with. Blinking a couple of times as some people passed her clad in knights armour she held up a hand to stop one of them. "Can't you people dress yourselves properly? Good lord." She actually shifted the mans chest plate so it sat properly and then examined the chain mail on the other. "This mail has a few holes in it that shouldn't be there. You'll go and get it fixed or get the barracks to give you a new set. Wear and tear isn't something that you'll get yelled at for if it's just simply from time. Go. Go now." With that the two were sent on their way and Eris continued to walk all the way to the throne room where someone sat in her place. A young woman with the same green/blue eyes and black hair similarly styled to Eris'. "Your majesty. Rai here is a new recruit. He'll possibly be staying with us at some point in the future. I do hope you don't mind." The woman simply smiled and gestured for Eris to carry on. "All right, thank you." The act was flawless, spot on and as if it were simply normal day to day things within the castle walls. She now lead him to the training grounds. "Go and explore, I'll be waiting here for you once you're done." |

"It's certainly one way to get the heart racing. There's other ways you know."
He smirked back, following her off of the wall down into the grounds. He was surprised to see that the guards were quick to respond, but, she still found an issue with their detail. One of the guard had shirked off to a strip club, to which the Queen promised retribution upon his return. He looked to the guards, who looked at him with a sort of incredulous look. Mutters of "A kid?" and "Who...?" followed him into the castle as he walked behind Eris.
"Take a good look around as we walk, I'll keep the pace nice and easy to keep up with to give ample time for you to look about."
He did as she suggested, looking around at the walls and decor of the vast hall. Tapestries bearing the Royal Crest lined the walls, with painting of what he could only assume was countryside and wilderness from their kingdom laid upon the walls like windows into a different world. She had then stopped, halting some dressed down knights who had wandered into her orbit. She scolded them for the state of their armor. Rai was impressed at the obvious power she held. She had a strong voice, but it was soft and calm. Her demanding presence seemed to more or less explode from her words, despite her fair appearance. Every moment he had spent with her had given him the confidence that he was in good hands, for her leadership and honor seemed unmatched.
She took him to see who he could only assume was the false Queen, sitting in wait on the throne. He bowed his head respectfully, keeping up the charade while Eris introduced him and advised the conditions of his training and residence.
She led him immediately after into the training grounds, where she said "Go and explore, I'll be waiting here for you once you're done."
He looked towards her, nodded, and stepped out into the grounds, the murmurs of several guardsmen raising into the air as he stepped out into the open. He ignored this. She told him to explore, not to socialize, so, he had to use his recently re-acquired ability of ignorance to keep the confused whispers to a dull roar.
Several feet ahead of where they had entered hung a large sand bag, obviously a punching bag. He stepped around it, stood, and struck it with his right fist, sending it swaying away from him a short distance. he held a hand up and stopped it on the return, turning towards the rest of the grounds. So much equipment, so many practice weapons on racks, Rai immediately knew exactly how serious Eris took the training of her guard. This meant that he needed to get to know the training grounds as if it were his own private arena.
After a few more moments of walking around, continuing to ignore the couple of guardsmen that had been standing, watching him incredulously, he walked back towards Eris, and nodded again. "Thanks." he said. "Where to next?" he asked, shifting his weight and putting his hands in a relaxed position in front of him, not quite crossing his arms, but not quite holding them loosely in front of him.

She let him roam, watching him as he headed out in to the grounds. She stood arms folded, her gaze flicking from one guard to the next and then to Rai. They seemed to be confused and she just arched her brows at them. They soon quieted down. She resumed watching him, she saw the way he moved, she'd also seen his speed earlier, he was good, he already had the basics easily. She simply needed to work and build on what he already had. She saw him heading back towards her and she tilted her head. Was he done already? "Thanks. Where to next?" "We can head home for the day. Tomorrow I'll need to get you fitted with a set of armor that you may want to wear whenever possible to get used to the weight." She stated as she now lead the way out, she didn't really bother much with the few people who stopped and bowed their heads before going back to their business. She actually walked the entire way back to the academy hopefully with Rai in tow. "Time to move your things, I'll help of course but the quicker we get moved the better. Plus it means you don't have to deal with these loud idiots in the walls of the dorms." She sighed a little, yes people could be exceptionally loud, that much she knew. Rai didn't seem to appreciate loud people very much, then again neither did she, she liked the peace and quiet where she could hear herself think rather than trying to sift through her mind because she kept tuning in to others conversations. Luckily, she didn't have to do that any more, she'd learned a long time ago not too and today she'd taught him the same thing. Today she'd made progress and that was all that mattered. Where things went from here was anyones guess really. |

Rai nodded and looked back towards the training ground. He felt slightly elated, albeit tired from the day, and was glad that they were now to retire for the day. He crossed his arms and looked thoughtful, looking back towards her. "I can get everything moved tonight, actually. I don't have much." he said, looking towards the exit. "I'll go back to the dorms tonight and return with my things. Should be about a suitcase worth." he looked back towards her. "Thanks. For giving me this opportunity." he said, looking towards the other knights who were still halfway looking towards them. "It'll take time getting used to this." he said, pocketing his thumbs and letting out a sigh.
(Short, I know.)
