Rai stood atop a stairway in an old dilapidated chapel. The pews were still in their rows, perfectly aligned, undisturbed albeit dust and bits of rotted wood from the support beams that held the majestic ceiling of the chapel up. These old, run down portions of Utopia's temples were especially useful for solitude, and this is where Rai came to think.
This time, however, Rai wished to speak to the girl, Eris, again. He wondered what she meant by knowing how to build such tolerance to people. It was this, as well as his sheer curiosity for who she was, that compelled him to seek out this quiet spot, and flip open his cell phone. Taking a breath, he dialed the number, and awaited the answer from the other end.

To be honest, walking around the middle of the town wasn't something she was planning on doing today. In fact, she had been planning on going back to the castle and teaching the men how to differentiate from impulse fighting and strategic fighting. However, even when she arrived at the castle she was told she wasn't allowed to as it was her day off. She simply took it as people wanting to get out of work so she complied and went about her business. No classes, no fighting, no training, no nothing. That was until she felt a tingling at her breast, it sort of took her by surprised and she scowled for a moment before she pried her phone from inside her breast pocket. Staring at the screen she blinked and she frowned. Someone she didn't know called her, Was it him? Had that young man from the other day actually called her? Of course he had, who else could it even be, it wasn't as if she simply disclosed her number to anyone. His was the only number she didn't know. Though she hadn't been expecting it, in fact she had been expecting someone else entirely. Someone from the castle. Slowly she rubbed her thumb on the answer key, she didn't press it though, she just let it ring for a moment before she finally applied a little more pressure and there was a light click. Then she lifted the phone to her ear. "... Yes?" She answered, she didn't say hello, she didn't see the need, instead she cut past the chit chat to the point. Even as far as phone calls were concerned, she didn't mess around. Now all she had to do was wait. She just needed to know what he wanted and where he was. Mostly so that she could turn up and speak to him face to face, she wasn't so keen on doing things so... Haphazardly. |

He heard the phone click as her voice came from the speaker. Short, to the point, no greeting. He sighed, and spoke.
"You said you could show me how to manage... people, better. Honestly, I guess I'm just letting these petty emotions get to me. I need to learn to be more... efficient. Stronger. If you're still interested... there's an old chapel, south of the new temples. It's old, run down, but it's empty. We can talk there, without worry of anyone being nosey or otherwise bothersome." he finished his request and awaited a response. Whether she accepted or not, he would most likely spend the rest of his day at the chapel, maybe training or whatever. All he needed was to become stronger, an efficient soldier...
He remembered his brothers, his family, practically laughing off his wishes to become a soldier.
These are times of peace! Why would you want to go do nothing? Study gemstones or something!
Fighting isn't an answer, Rai, and you know this.
But when fighting has to be the answer, I want to be there. You'll never understand.
These last words echoed through the chapel, as he said them out loud. His family wanted him to become a Gemologist, or a teacher. But his place wasn't with these people... now, he just needed the means to get out and do what he wanted.
And somehow, he felt, that Eris was the key to realizing this.

"You said you could show me how to manage... people, better." She blinked once or twice as she listened. "Honestly, I guess I'm just letting these petty emotions get to me. I need to learn to be more... efficient. Stronger. If you're still interested... there's an old chapel, south of the new temples. It's old, run down, but it's empty. We can talk there, without worry of anyone being nosey or otherwise bothersome." She didn't answer, she'd already set off running the second he said the location. When he finished speaking? She hung up, figuring he was done talking. It wouldn't take her very long to arrive to where he was located. However during her journey, she thought back to a few of those in the first company of the royal guard. They'd probably wonder how she was doing. If their oh so cold leader was truly safe. She actually frowned. She missed them. She missed home already and for a moment she came to a stop to glance back at the castle in the distance. She was quick on her feet, she barely even broke a sweat yet and her breathing was still very even paced. "To think... I'll be away from them for the next few years... Will they even.... Visit?...." She sighed a little before she shook her head, now wasn't the time to dawdle and be losing herself to stupid trivial emotions like that. She was a soldier. She was above emotions by this point, she could mask them well enough to hide. Carrying on with her run to the location she stopped once she reached the doors, one was slightly open already so she pushed it open and she strode in to the chapel, her boots licked sharply on the stone slabs beneath her and the reverb in the place carried the sound clearly. "Let's get started. From this day forth, you are one of my soldiers and as such, I will expect you to act accordingly. I am Eris Discordia, the commander of the Utopian Knights, I am also the commander of the queens Royal Guard of Eden. As such I will not go easy on you, you may even come to hate me but I don't care. If you're unable or have doubts about learning? I've wasted my time coming here." She now waited for what was going to be said in response. Her arms folded beneath her bust as she stared across the chapel at the white haired young man. "... Do you still want to do this? It won't be easy." She gave him one chance to get out of this before she began training him. It would be the only chance he had to get out of this while still in her good graces. |

He was standing on top of one of the catwalks when she stepped in. Her silence didn't bother him. Had she said 'No.', then he would have left. But her silence... it spoke volumes. Her arrival, and her next speech spoke volumes as well, volumes that actually shook him inside. She just... recruited him? Without a preliminary exam? No physical test? No long, drawn out wait?
He looked surprised, even taken aback, but he regained his composure, vaulting himself over a railing to the floor below, landing with a sharp thump on his feet. He straightened up, and approached slowly, until he came within arm's reach, looking into her eyes for a brief moment. Then he knelt onto one knee, bowing his head and closing his eyes.
"It would be my privilege." he said, keeping his head knelt. "Whatever you need of me, just name it." he spoke with the sincerity that anyone of such honor would speak. Inside, he was overjoyed, a chance to prove himself, to do some good, other than thumping books and religious texts for a measly paycheck, or looking at glowing rocks to determine if they were a fire materia, an ice gemstone, or a fossilized piece of pocket monster dung. No more wondering of his future. Now? He could do something about it.
He stayed knelt, knowing the code of honor. She was now his commander. Therefore, she owned him.

He knelt down and she frowned. He was going to get his attire filthy, didn't he know that? Sure it was a nice thing to do to show respect but it would've been much easier much more efficient to stand and be ready. "It would be my privilege. Whatever you need of me, just name it." "Are you a mutt or a man? If the answer is a man then get up off the floor. Only dogs and slaves get down on the floor for their master. Simply bowing would've been perfectly fine and would have actually been more efficient, it takes less time to straighten up from a bow than it does to get up from the floor and if you think the queens knights get on their knees? You're sorely mistaken. They already understand that they are beneath the queens sway in this country. There is no need for anything more." She sighed she didn't have her blade with her otherwise she'd have started combat by now. It wouldn't matter if they put holes in this place, she could simply have it rebuilt. "Had I been prepared for this I'd have challenged you to a fight by now to see how well you fare. That isn't to say I'm shabby at hand to hand, I just prefer having a piece of steel in my hands, more reach." She admitted and then she looked around. "Now then." Grabbing the young man by his shirt she started to walk out of the chapel. "We're going to a bar and you aren't chickening out, people are people, that's all there is to them, they're composed of blood, flesh, bone just like you and me. We are going to a bar because it's crowded, there we'll get a drink each and we will wait and see who cracks first under the pressure of crowds." Once she actually arrived at a bar? A semi-crowded one she pulled him in with her and made a bee line for the bar. "Ah Eris! Oh~ You've got someone with you today... Unusual for you...""Raspberry-Lime Gin and Tonic." She told the person behind the counter. "Oh. So. He's a new recruit. Giving him the crowd filtering training I take it?" She simply nodded, she didn't even seem to notice the guy all that much. "Ah, right, heh, she's a tough one kid. So don't go getting your hopes up. What'll it be?" Eris didn't even bother looking at the man to be honest, she just ignored most of the words that came out of his mouth yet paid enough attention that if she were to be addressed she'd be able to respond accordingly. "We'll be having a couple of drinks, so make sure it's nothing that'll get you wasted before we finish." She murmured to the white haired young man before she went and took a seat somewhere that wasn't too far from the bar, it was within eye sight and was in a semi-secluded corner so there wasn't too much noise. The reason why she taught the guard to ignore people? It was because they needed their concentration for more more serious matters. Or because they may need to stand guard at the castle for hours at a time and not say a word or react to people who were passing by the main gates. She would wait till Rai actually came to sit with her. Then she'd speak again. "I advise concentrating on the drink you choose, or even just on one particular person in the room. You'll find that ignoring people and sounds comes a lot more naturally than you're aware of. I doubt you remember faces of people you pass in a store, or anything like that because you're concentrating on the various things you need to buy from each isle in the place and then you're concentrating on getting out and going home. I doubt you even remember the face of the doorman we passed or what people were talking about outside as we entered." She murmured with a slight smirk, then she slowly sipped at her drink. "So, now that we've started? Why not tell me about yourself hm? Consider this as an interview to enter the royal guard persay. So no lies or tall stories. If you fail this lesson today, there is no second chance, this is a relatively simple lesson to learn..." She sounded extremely serious and sincere, however, it was a lie, even if he failed? She'd just call him tomorrow and they'd try a second or maybe even a third time. Not everyone got it the first time, that much she'd learned so it was more to see how he handled the pressure than the crowds. A single chance. If he worried too much about screwing up? He most likely would. If he didn't worry enough then he'd screw up. It was a rather finicky thing. Most people actually failed the first time. |

She scolded him for kneeling, which he understood. He took it a little far, sure, but, she had given him the chance he had been denied before. Now was his chance. Though, this time, he was sure-
Suddenly, within his train of thought, she had grabbed him and dragged him to a place he had never been before. A bar? Why here?
She had released him so he could move of his own volition, and looked around curiously. He was under a stressed state before, so now, he remained more stoic in the noisy, rumble of people in the bar. It was all white noise to him, for now. He saw her order a drink before sitting, which, he shook his head, not sure what he wanted, and sat down across from her, leaned back with his arms spread along the back of the booth.
"I had a... spat with my father some time ago, so, the other day was... abnormal for me." he confessed, looking down to her drink for a moment before looking up to a host. "I'll try what she's having." he said, pointing to the glass. A nod, and the host was away, returning soon with the drink in hand, handing it to Rai, who nodded in thanks and set it on the table. He crossed his arms as she asked him about himself, which he pondered. The dull roar of the crowd broke his concentration, since this was a little more crowded than usual, but he kept his composure.
"You've already met one of my two brothers. We're triplets. We were all raised under one discipline, but each have contrasting personalities. Ri, the hothead, is aggressive and rash, bad at making intense decisions, but is smart, nonetheless. Riku, the cooler, nicer brother..." he said the word nicer with a sense of distaste- "He's the self proclaimed prodigy of the family. He does, however, have a flaw of being incredibly naive... Then, there's me. I value tactics, Making educated decisions in my plan of attack. I am no coward, but I'm not dumb enough to rush into a fight where I could possibly lose my sword arm. I'm also not so quick to trust based on appearances. The eyes, a person's very own gateway into their soul... Their soul has to be genuine before I can trust them. It's why crowds do bother me." a crash of a glass shattering on the floor made him wince and glance in the direction. He then looked back to Eris. "I want to do something... good. Become stronger. Serve the kingdom and protect it's people. I just don't want to be one of those model warriors that seem to think that being a soldier is a ticket to fame... I'd rather people just not know my name, and see my appearance as a form of comfort. I also... want to get away from my family for some time. Not that I don't love them, it's just that... I don't fit in. I'm not one of the Sinclairs, as my father told me once."
He finally took a sip of his drink, letting it sit on his tongue before swallowing. It was sweet, tart, and it burned, as alcohol does. He smirked, and set the glass down. "What about you? If you don't mind me asking, what is the Commander of the Utopian Knights doing here?" he asked.

"I had a... spat with my father some time ago, so, the other day was... abnormal for me." Well now. That was interesting in and of itself. A stoic person who seemingly was riled by their parent. Too bad she didn't have any parent to rile her any more. "I'll try what she's having." She smirked, this poor young man had never been drinking it seemed. He'd have to learn to drink if he were to fit in with the knights or any of the military in Eden. They could cause quite the ruckus when they went out drinking. All good souls though. "You've already met one of my two brothers. We're triplets. We were all raised under one discipline, but each have contrasting personalities." He then went on to explain a little about each of them in turn but she wasn't really interested in them so she tuned out most of that information. A little rude yes but still none the less. "I value tactics, Making educated decisions in my plan of attack." That's where she tuned back in. "I am no coward, but I'm not dumb enough to rush into a fight where I could possibly lose my sword arm. I'm also not so quick to trust based on appearances. The eyes, a person's very own gateway into their soul... Their soul has to be genuine before I can trust them. It's why crowds do bother me." Then why did he trust her to help him? Based on a single action rather than words? A chance meeting. He didn't even have a clue who she really was. That made her smile inwardly really. Not a single person in this room knew who she really was. If she tried telling them? They'd probably just laugh at her. She even managed to tune out the glass shattering though Rai hadn't. Instead he winced and even glanced in that direction. She simply smiled and shook her head. "I want to do something... good. Become stronger. Serve the kingdom and protect it's people. I just don't want to be one of those model warriors that seem to think that being a soldier is a ticket to fame..." She snorted a little at that. Generally speaking? It was only the assholes in the lower military that thought like that. Oh I'm a general in the army, I'm so big and tough even though I sit behind a desk signing papers. She sighed a little some of the people in the military were pricks, it was true, though most of them did damn well at their job. Most of her royal guard... She hand picked herself. It meant she knew and understood them on a personal level. Though of course it was her personal company her platoon that she had picked. Though that brought her back to wondering how they all were. "I'd rather people just not know my name, and see my appearance as a form of comfort. I also... want to get away from my family for some time. Not that I don't love them, it's just that... I don't fit in. I'm not one of the Sinclairs, as my father told me once." She hadn't spoken a damn word just yet. Instead she had listened to the important parts of what he said. Though as he took a sip of his drink she spoke. "It may seem that way, but you most likely do fit in to your family. More than you probably realize. When you finally are away from them for a while. Even when you've just had arguments with them? You'll start to miss them." She stated, perhaps it was a bold statement but she'd seen grown men break down in to tears like babies from home sickness and the like. Or because they truly missed their parents and siblings even though all they did was argue. "What about you? If you don't mind me asking, what is the Commander of the Utopian Knights doing here?" Oh gosh how was she going to explain this? "Me?..." She seemed. Surprised. Most people didn't ask about her, they were either too afraid to get that personal or they just didn't care enough because she was rude. "Um... No one usually asks me that... What a curious young man you are... I suppose you're probably trying to learn a little about me for your own benefit or to try analysing me or something of that nature." She tapped her chin. "Long story short? I've come to make the most of the years remaining in the education system as the education at the castle was growing rather stagnant. That and I know and understand I need to develop my people skills. I wasn't really expecting to end up with a recruit in the process. So this is something interesting and new. You'd be the youngest in my company save for myself. Most others are much older and generally speaking they laughed at me when I became the commander of the knights at the age of twelve...." She stated. The age of twelve was when her parents died. When she was supposed to be crowned and was crowned but they had someone sit in her place. "Other than that? There isn't much to say. I've been in the military for a long time and I don't intend to quit any time soon either. I'm not quick to trust so I'm not simply going to give you my life story on a whim, I will however tell you that there's much more to me than meets the eye." She smirked a little at that, it was true. If he knew she was the queen, how would he react? Given his immediate urge to kneel earlier it might be amusing to see his reaction. Maybe she should tell him? Just to see? Yes. She would. "I'm curious if I told you I'm the queen, would you believe me?" It was again to the point and she said it with a smile, he probably wouldn't believe her. |

He listened to her tell him what his brothers have told him. He believed them, sure, but deep inside, he felt like the furthest part of the family, a branch of the tree that jutted out all on it's lonesome. The only company the cool, crisp morning air. He didn't mind this. He didn't mind that he felt like he was the outcast. Either way, he had an opportunity, now. He listened to every word she said about herself, taking another sip of the cool, warm drink as she spoke. The background noise droned on, but at less intensity. The crowd almost vanished entirely in his mind, and it was just him, and her. She told a small part of her story, about how she came for education, not expecting to pick up a new hand in the process. How he was the youngest. But, what she said next, caused everything within him to seemingly drop to the floor.
"I'm curious if I told you I'm the queen, would you believe me?"
He instantaneously knew it to be true. He knew it by pure inhibition, that she was toying with him. But something told him that she was no liar, and she wasn't one to play games. She was testing him for a reaction, and she probably expected such a thing as him to display the humility that he showed before, kneeling and bowing his head, pledging further allegiance, but she had already denounced such actions... He stared at her for a short moment, having paused, obviously surprised, and set his drink down on the table, the sound of the thunk on wood echoing in the forced silence that he had unwillingly trained himself to create.
"So, say I don't believe you. This'll go on, this charade you have put up, until you deem me worthy to truly tell, yes? But, if I am honest to you now, and know that, by honor, you're not inherently a liar... I would have to say that I believe you, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Not because of any built trust, but... Somehow or another, it puts me at ease as well as makes me uneasy. If you are, truly, the queen, then... why are you out here? Are you in some kind of danger within your walls, or did you decide to travel the roads while putting a false on the throne?" he asked quietly, so no one else could hear.
Of course, this could be just one big trap.
He picked the drink back, up, taking a little bigger of a sip this time. Things had just gotten interesting, and probably hit the fan, considering the magnitude of this secret. If she was even queen. He doubted himself just a little, but, he kept his gaze locked on hers, wondering even more what the queen would do out here among the people.
And what this meant for him.

She watched and waited, he paused, though he didn't react much at all in her opinion. Honestly? She was expecting... More. She watched him set the glass down on the table and she sipped at her own drink. "So, say I don't believe you. This'll go on, this charade you have put up, until you deem me worthy to truly tell, yes?" She tilted her head listening to him as he spoke and analysed something so simple. She even set her own glass down at this point and was leaning on one of her hands, elbow resting on the table. "But, if I am honest to you now, and know that, by honor, you're not inherently a liar... I would have to say that I believe you, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Not because of any built trust, but... Somehow or another, it puts me at ease as well as makes me uneasy." That made her smile a little bit. At least he was smart enough to understand she wasn't one to lie, unless there was a reason for doing so. "If you are, truly, the queen, then... why are you out here? Are you in some kind of danger within your walls, or did you decide to travel the roads while putting a false on the throne?" It took everything in her not to laugh, but as he took another sip of his drink she cracked and laughed, not very loudly but she still laughed. "You're amusing. I'll give you that. Smart too. Now then how do I answer that hm? I could lie and try to feign being in danger but please if I was in danger within my own home I'd have already ended the threat, I do have training remember? My parents died when I was twelve in some mysterious accident, in turn I was crowned... Now... I've never been stupid and I knew that a child? On the throne? Would be assassinated by the time the first month was out. There are people in Eden who'd love to have the throne for themselves so they can do whatever they want and wage war with other countries, blah blah blah." She stated, she didn't really seem all that bothered by the fact there were people around, she just, spoke as if it were something of everyday conversation. "I didn't want that. So I started training how to fight, how to defend myself, learned what I could from the education system within the walls. I had someone else sit on the throne and act as if they were me, the reason why I took the commander of the utopian knights position was so that I was always close enough to know what was going on and was always kept in the loop thus I could still give my opinion on what was to be done with certain matters. Some of the royal guard know who I am, others... Do not." She explained a little about why she was where she was but why was she still there? "I suppose I enjoyed the position I was given a little too much, I should've been back on the throne last year but I didn't feel it was necessary or even something that was urgent. If I can blend in enough with the regular populace I'm able to gather so much more information about the real problems. I can tackle them properly rather than having to have people relay information. The problem with people relaying information is that it gets passed between far too many people and thus stories change and I wouldn't get the full story behind anything. It would be shrouded in lies. So? Here I am. Getting as much education as I can before I truly have to take the throne and sit locked away behind the castle walls. I'm making the most of my freedom while I have it." She began to tap a finger on the table before she frowned and sighed. "I probably shouldn't even be telling you this but I honestly don't care. I'm still a person like you or anyone else." Draining the glass she ordered another drink. "Sadly my freedom might be cut a little short... It seems there may be war brewing in the West... I don't understand why everyone's so fixated on this countries gemstones... I'd be willing to set up trade but no, that's not good enough, they want them all. I just have to hope that the princess can handle herself and manages to end it at the source before innocent lives are dragged in to a war based on mere selfish desires declared by power hungry royals... I'll need to check in on her..." She stated with a sigh, it was more of an off handed comment than anything really. "So... Has your opinion of me changed any? I hope not~" |

Rai listened to her tale of secrecy, of impending war, and took another drink, this one a little longer than the previous drinks. Sure, like any other human being, the prospect of war made him nervous, but, it excited him. Being considered the 'third' of the three always placed him as third banana in a bunch. His attitude always contradicting his father's ways, his brother's pleas for him to change, to lighten up, to improve his mood. He hated being expected to be like his kinder, gentler brothers... These expectations sickened him. They made him wish he was born different. At a different time. He would have gone with being the younger or older brother, not one of three. This made his desire to escape even more damning.
Now was his chance. His chance to escape the shadow of his father, the backseat of his brothers, and do something with himself. It just so happened that this opportunity was being presented by none other than the Queen herself.
"I suppose this means you're going to need help, and since you just signed me on to your forces I guess that also means we need to get started right away." he said grimly, finishing his drink and setting the glass on the table with a light clink of glass on wood.
"What'll be first? I always heard that the Queen's chosen elite were trained far differently than the usual Infantry. This being said, it's rather... unknown exactly how they're trained." he leaned forward, crossing his arms on the table, attentive, but still relaxed. "All I say to that is I'm ready." Rai gave a rare smile. He felt confidence that he hadn't before.

"I suppose this means you're going to need help, and since you just signed me on to your forces I guess that also means we need to get started right away.""That would depend on if the Princess of that country can stop it before it comes to blows." She commented and she crossed one leg over the other, oddly enough she noticed the crowds in this place growing and yet the conversation had still continued as if it were just her and the young man sat across from her. "What'll be first? I always heard that the Queen's chosen elite were trained far differently than the usual Infantry. This being said, it's rather... unknown exactly how they're trained. All I say to that is I'm ready." She laughed, and that laugh simmered down in to a giggle. He was eager. Extremely eager. "You're ready to take proper training when I say you are Rai. Right now you're just a fledgling but you'll grow. Also I'm quite glad you passed this test in and of itself, it seems you do have the patience required and the will power to pull through." She smiled and now she nodded to the crowds that had now made the place rather thick with chatter and laughter. Slowly she stood up, heading to the bar and tossing cash on the counter. "I'll be back on Tuesday, have my drink ready at six." She smiled and then she looked towards Rai. "Are you coming? You're coming to the castle with me aren't you?" She blinked once or twice waiting for him to get up and follow and if he did, she'd lead him outside, of course it was a little darker now, overcast even. Still she strolled down the street confident as ever, not a care in the world because she knew she could defend herself if need be. "When we reach the castle, I will show you where you'll be training. Hopefully you're fit enough to withstand the regimen if not? Then I'll let you go and you can try again at some other point." The real test would be later this evening. "I've gone through the trouble of getting us a house on campus just so you're aware." She stated. "After I show you the castle grounds, we'll move your stuff there. At least then you'll have some peace and quiet." She commented, if he did take it, then he'd find that this evening while he and Eris were sleeping, that someone would break in, of course this would all be set up just a small test to see if he had the balls to deal with a problem or if he ran from it. Of course Eris was a light sleeper so she'd wake up and stop it before it became too violent. It all depended on how Rai reacted. |

He listened to her speak of the Princess of the other country, and that she'll deem him ready for the training when she sees fit. The crowd was no longer a buzz, but a dull roar as Rai finally took notice to his surroundings, though having been aware the entire time.
"... Wow." he said, looking around at the crowd and letting out a sigh. "Easier than I thought..."
She stood and walked to the bar, and he followed, having finished his drink. She then looked towards him and asked if he was coming back to the castle with her. He gazed at her blankly for a moment, and pointed at himself. "The... castle?" he asked. But she had already walked towards the door, which he responded with a raised eyebrow, a small smile, and a shrug as he pushed his hands in his pockets, following her out.
She spoke of the regimen that he would be going through, and nodded slowly, understanding. He walked alongside her, listening as she spoke of a house. Their house. "Wait. You already had all this figured out? Did you know I would pass, or...?" he looked at her, intrigued and awed. Was she that intuitive? It was hard telling. He was surprised she had opened up as much as she did, and now, the enigma that was the Queen had begun to truly surface. All this did was tickle his curiosity even more, and encourage to follow her even more, smiling when she said he would some peace and quiet.
"You just taught me how to make my own tranquility. I just had forgotten how." he looked ahead down the road. "It's handy. I could be aware and ignore everyone at the same time." he took one hand out of his pocket and brushed it through his hair, glancing towards Eris. "... Will my brothers know?" he asked, purely out of curiosity, not really caring if they knew or not.
But, partially, he would like for them to know, at least so they knew. As detached as he was from his brothers, until he met Eris, he had shared what semblance of feeling he had with them both. Somehow, he could see Riku giving him a shocked gaze, then lecturing him on how it was a bad idea, how he could get himself killed. Ri would probably express jealousy, wanting to join himself and bust some heads.
"... On second thought, I'll keep this to myself." he said, a strained look in his eyes.

"... Wow. Easier than I thought..." That it should be. "The... castle?" Obviously she meant him who else could she possibly mean and she said exactly what she wanted too. So asking about the castle was silly but she wouldn't say anything about that. "Wait. You already had all this figured out? Did you know I would pass, or...?" She laughed a little. "Not at all actually, remember the conversation about housing when I met you last? I went ahead and took the liberty of just signing you up for a room in a house with me." She stated with a smirk. She found it amusing. "You just taught me how to make my own tranquility. I just had forgotten how. It's handy. I could be aware and ignore everyone at the same time." She nodded, it was true, there was a way to do both and she never forgot how to do it because she often needed to use it to her advantage. "... Will my brothers know?""If you want them to know then yes, if not then no. It's entirely up to you to tell them." She stated with a more gentle smile. "... On second thought, I'll keep this to myself.""That bad hm?" She asked and as she got to a certain alleyway she took a sharp turn down it, dragging the young man with her. "I'll show you the way from here, I hope you can keep up." She poked at him and then she was off, running down the alleyway, even if it had a chain link fence she just vaulted up the fence and launched herself over the top. Then she kept running, skidding around a corner and then launching up a set of ladders on the side of a building to the roof where she'd run across the tops. She was quick. Agile. Each step was confident and precise. She made her way to the castle like that, going over and around buildings, taking a quicker route than the bare roads or streets. The last thing she did was get on one of the castle walls and wait. She had a feeling the young man wouldn't be far behind but she could always be wrong about that. |

This post just made me have to use this song. Before he could really answer, she had challenged him to keep up, and took off. Slightly surprised at her sudden speed, he recovered from the initial shock and took off on a path of his own, vaulting himself up and over fences and on top of a taller building through a catwalk, keeping his eye on her as she ran. He as, like his brothers, and his father before him, athletic, and (though, this has yet to be confirmed) he always considered himself the fastest of his brothers. His foot falls echoed into the alleyways below as he followed her form, not really catching up, but keeping a healthy distance so he could compensate for any sudden change in direction. He jumped between rooftops, but, undercalculated and missed, rolling into an open window in an apartment complex instead. Shrill screams and random objects (a pencil, a coffee cup, and a teddy bear, to be exact) were flung at him as he made his way through the apartment, across the hall, and out the other side of the neighboring apartment, through the window. He vaulted himself up to the roof of the next building, kicking up the walls and landing on the roof of a small office building. A bead of sweat dropped from his brow as he scanned the horizon, just barely catching her form dropping behind another building, a straight shot to the castle. He sped along the rooftops, jumping and somersaulting over the A/C units that littered themselves all over the place. He had to catch up. He kept up the pace, jumping the last few buildings before seeing her, finally, make her way to the castle wall. He gave one final look ahead, calculating his jump, and pushed himself off the roof, sailing towards the wall, and her, when he landed, skidding, next to her. Catching his breath, he put his hands on his hips and raised his eyebrow to her. "Well, you sure know how to get the heart beating..." he said, patting his chest. "I hadn't had to run like that since... well, since a long time, now."He looked up to the wall, placing his hand on it. "This is where you call home, huh? Well, kind of." he said, never having even been close to the castle before.
