Rune had made his way to the area where most of the temples seemed to be in the city for a bit of a break. Most people that knew him well enough would have probably found it odd that he of all people would voluntarily go anywhere near a religious structure without some ulterior motive. Then again, most of them where people from his home who had difficulty actually understanding his view. He did believe there was a god or several gods or some other force that transcended mortals and had influence over them and likely created a great deal of things so life may exist. He did not however, believe that the gods they worshiped were really gods, and didn't put much stock in worshiping them. All these stories of how great they were, helping people, punishing the wicked, on and on and on, and yet, people like his uncle existed. A year, fine, two and three years, a question, but a decade or more of his warring, slaughtering, enslaving, and overall barbarity, and yet no god striking him down, or sending some divinely powered hero to bring him to justice? And all those faithful at home saying things like "it's all part of their plan". It really just made them seem delusional and incapable of coping with the idea what they've worshiped for generations wasn't actually all that good. Why would these kind all loving gods plans include genocide and enslavement. That's where what they believed in most of the island made no sense to him and he disagreed. At east those to the east things were less about gods and more about enlightenment, being a good person, etc.
Which was why he made his way to a temple that had the same sort of structure as the ones in the east. Nice simple not overbearingly fancy bamboo and wood structure. There was no one around at the moment, and only sound was the rustling of leaves and wind chimes in the breeze. Nice, quiet, and away enough to not really even hear the cars. He sat in the middle of the concrete yard and crossed his legs as he sat and let his arms rest on his knees. He closed is eyes and let out a breath as he attempted to clear his mind and focused. The fact it was a bit warmer was an annoyance but he did his best to ignore it. Though, try as he might, he would would keep coming back to the fact he still hadn't heard anything of his older sister recently. Which left him somewhat conflicted. On one hand he felt it was better to stay here, because had she gotten away and was simply hiding he might draw attention to her, and she would likely when she found out he left schooling she'd hit him in the head and tell him learning was more important. On the other hand, not knowing and having to rely on others was driving him insane and he was more then willing to say o hell with school and start tearing cities down back home to find her or what happened to her. But his own conflicting ideas of what he should do the tie breaker generally was what his sister would want him to do, or his parents, in which the answer would be to stay and further his education, and stay there for now as it was overall safer for him there and to be patient. He finally started to push it back from his mind though in his frustration at things in general he didn't have quite as good a handle on his abilities and the air around him had started to actually drop in temperature and each breath out was actually starting to freeze his clothing and the ground by his legs.
