Rafael is one of those people that prefer a hands on approached to life, he wants to be in the middle of the situation to try and fix it. He mature beyond his years at times, giving advice and allowing others to give advice to him regarding life. He takes everything he sees and tries to learn from it. While he does have hatred, he rathe not cling to it and cloud his judgement. Rafael is friendly to any and all who would talk to him, human or not. As ruler of his kingdom Rafael can hold his own in a verbal fight provided it was a fair fight. He is patient to a fault and stubborn with the unwilliness to give in when others would try and fail.

However he's not a totally saint, while he has patience and plenty of it. Rafael has a temper to matce that patience, granted its rare when someone actually makes him angry. However, if that does happen he is not shy enough to not use force. If he has to beat some sense into someone then he wont hesite to do so. Rafael enjoys a good fight, and respects any and all who he can spar with. He feels more comfort when he holds his weapons rather than being in a political battle. To celebrate things or to enjoy the company of others he would take them out drinking, even if they are underage. Rafael always has his royal seal on his jacket, not caring if others know who he is unless it brings trouble. However, unless they had visited his country most wouldn't even know what the seal was other than being from a noble family.

The country of Nemesio was open to non-human races, this conflict has been in place for centuries. As such each and every time a human had stepped into Nemesio territory they would have been hunted down This all ended when Rafael's father took the throne, the man had tried his best to changed their views on humanity as a whole.  The man had one child with his wife before she passed away, that was Rafael.

Rafael grew up with his father's beliefs, he saw as the country began to change and become more accepting towards humans. He was taught how to defend both what was right and his kingdom. He was the only heir to the throne, his father personallly taught him how to use their magic. Rafael was taught politics, philosophy, weaponry and tradition His father was trying to mold him into the perfect king both for his people and the world. Rafael learned that there was more than just Nemesio, that to achive the best results he had to achieve peace with the other countries around him.

When he was 13 years old he was in an accident, there was a group of people that didn't agree with the king's views of the world. They contiuned to hunt humans in the shadows. This group wanted to keep Nemesio's purity in tact and to do so they had decided to kill the only heir to the throne. So they set up a trap for Rafael, they infiltrated the castle and sabotaged one of his guns that Rafael practiced with. One the small boy fired the gun exploded in his hands, the result of that small explosion caused severe burns all around  his upper body. Rafael didn't remember much after that, the pain caused him to pass out for the moment.

Rafaels incident caused the king to go on a hunt for the ones responsible. It was the also the only time that after each and every one of the group that hated humans were captured that there was a public execution. Each and every one of the group was executed in front of the castle, as a reminder of what would happen if they attempted to hurt the prince.  Rafael ended up with scars all over his body, while most of them vanished the remaining scars on his face and body served as a reminder that not all in the worlds was light.

When Rafael turned 20 his father had passed away from illness. Being the only one left from the royal family meant that he was not king of Nemesio. He took the reigns and began to rule the country the only way he knew how. He was accepting towards humans and ruled so that his people followed in suit. Though when he turned 21 he felt that he had to see mreo of the world. He had to make peace with all the other countries, that way at least Nemesio would serve as a neutral place for them. He choose one off his best men that he could trust to look after the kingdom and Rafael went to the Academy, to learn more about the countries that are in this world and to learn their traditions. He only had one year to learn what he could and he was going to take advantage of it.
