If its for their own good then he will tell them like so. He is a man that loves his strength over all. Though he might seem to have a devil may care attitude with what is around him he is very observant, caring about the well being of others as a whole especially his students. While hedoes worry about them he also knows that doing something about it means that he has to step back and let them make their mistakes so that they grow into adults. Laxus has a somewhat crass way of talking as well, due to him not watching his words a lot of what he says comes out as something that others might not want to listen to. He is stubborn and will not budge that easly, no matter who he is talking to. He prefers to give out respect to those that have earned the right, not to those that want it. Ironically he is exactly the same way which sometimes works against him. Laxus thinks both this logic and his emotions, he doesn't allow neither one to overpower each other. Which allows him to plan and to stratigize in his next move in the middle of battle. His mother died not soon after he was born, so he was taken care of by this grandfather and his father when he was there. Laxus grew up into a normal boy with strong magic potential to his family. As the years went by his father grew obsessed with dragon magic. Not knowing how to use it or how to aquire all of its skills in the shortest amount of time he turned to Lauxs. At his young age he didn't know better and accepted to help his father the best way he knew how. He was just there for the man and followed his instructions. He did his best to use whatever method his father thought would bring the most results. Laxus was happy that he could help his father. Even though he didn't get the magic that his father wanted to learn. One day Laxus was called to his father's study, the man had a strange stone, smaller than his palm. The man looked at LAxus with glee and after a little convincing the man melted the strange stone and placed it into a syringe. He then injected it underneath Laxus' eye. In that instant Laxus felt a surge of pain coming from his eye, then it spread all over his head. The pain was unbearable, Laxus tried his hardest to continue to stay concious when his pain won over his will and he passed out. Next time he awoke he felt something diferent, Laxus felt strange everything around his room was different. He was seeing different thing in a different form. He could hear sounds from downstairs that he couldn't before. He touched his face and felt a large scar on his face. It was then he remembered what had happened, how it was his own father that caused him so much pain. He talked to his granfather then, the other explained that his father was no longer welcomed in their home. His grandfather began to take care of Laxus. He spent his years trying to teach him from right to wrong. And for the most part it worked. He grew up and he had the principles that his grandfather hand planted on him. When he was old enough he began his study at the Academy there he molded his personailty into one that was more lone for his own good. He did made good friends passed his times with no real issues. As far as Laxus knew he only had his grandfather as his only living relative. He was influenced by a few teachers there ,to become something better, to become a role model. After his 6 years at the Academy he went and got his teaching degree. He had fallen in love with the Academy, enough to place his time and power to try to teach there. He, though he would never say it outloud, wanted to guide new students and make sure that they have the skills to fight. Now as one of the new teachers he has that wish, he has a purpose and of course he would never allow any of his students to be hurt. Though that doesn't mean that he won't tease his student or even other staff members in the process.
