PERSONALITY TRAITS

Matty is complex in personality, and just about everything else. His typical personality is loner, slightly angry if only to keep people away from him. It is not his choice to let others get close to him so he purposely distances himself. So much so that he can even get to the point of being rude, or blunt to scare them away.

Before realizing he was a vampire he had actually been a happy, relaxed boy that had the fear of getting connecting, it didn't stop him from trying. Now he locked all of that away with the memories of his past wanting to be antisocial and left alone. He is very curious about humans, the way they act even they do the things that they do. Probably because Matty misses being one of those humans though he would never admit it.

His lack of trust makes it hard for him to create relationships or even keep them going for long periods of time. Matty does not have a filter being a nobody he will just speak his mind, say whatever it is. Add that onto the lack of care he already has for other peoples feelings Matty might not be the most social or nice person.

However underneath that cold...fake emotional appearance he gives the boy does worry about others. It's just all of that is so fake to him ever since he lost his heart he fears getting connected at the risk of destroying someone else. The boy can seem quite forceful if he really wants to know something though most of the time he picks to walk away.

At first glance he doesn't really seem worried about much. Though he does have another side of him...slightly fake as well. If he is freaked out or it sometimes just happens randomly Matty gains a more child like personality. One full of curiosity, fear and less blunt then his usual one. He doesn't really talk much in this form either, since he only does well around small groups or just one person.

Born to what seemed like normal, loving parents Matty was well taken care of being the only child. Both parents kept the fact that they were not human from the child. Picking to keep him the dark rather then opening him up to whatever wants to hurt him. The boy cared so much for his family doing whatever he could to keep them together. His childhood was normal, his mother stayed home as did his father till after Matty went to bed. What his father's work was Matty never knew nor did he question. Now the boy didn't have many friends playing alone in the field behind his house.

That changed when he found someone playing in the field, being a mostly normal boy they became friends. Everything seemed to be alright, and both of them spent a lot of time together. Till around the time he was fourteen, Matty brought his friend out to the field again. Approached by a stranger, he doesn't remember much other then hearing his friends scream and feeling something warm splash on his body. Waking up to see his friends body began the change for the worst in his personality.

His parents didn't quite explain what happened to him, but he did know it hadn't been good. Attempting to sleep only brought nightmares of that event. The older Matty got the colder his attitude seemed to become. His parents were forced to explain that he wasn't completely human, part of him was a vampire because of his father. Shortly after at least beginning to train him to control it his mother and father were killed in what he had been told was an accident. Traveling from family to family for the next few years it just became a way of life. His older brother had moved out, and that was Matty's last stop before the Academy.

The now nineteen year old boy has moved away from his home, leaving his old life behind. Working through his vampire life without his parents around. He's at the school on scholarship not wanting to ask for help from other people when there is little point.
