PERSONALITY TRAITS

Sho-Zen-Kah or Sho as she's often called is a rather quiet individual, not that she's shy or even that she lacks confidence, in fact she has quite a lot of confidence and presence should she need to use it. She just doesn't see the need to speak unless she's spoken too first and she likes what she says to be meaningful and have a purpose rather than random chit chat.

Sho-Zen-Kah even if she's seen as a sacred beast to some can actually be much more human than she truly is, she cares a lot about the world around her, the people in it. It is however hard for her to express this through words alone and sometimes actions are needed to show that she does hold people around her in high regard.

However, she holds people around her often far higher than herself, this is simply due to past instances where she has been treated as little more than a dog to the point where it broke her once very happy and fiery spirit. She did however cling to her hope and her pride, even if she became little more than a shell of her former self. She's been working on getting better with people and growing back in to the person she once was.

Sho-Zen-Kah even if she's not as old as some of her kind has had a long life. She started her life out in outskirts of Hokkaido where she grew up with her family and made quite a few friends, one of the first thing she learned from her mother was how to change form to a human so that she didn't scare the locals. After that however she had to learn how to socialize, make friends and everything else. She did so rapidly, by the time she was fifteen she had a lot of friends, she'd had her first boyfriend and all that other teenage stuff that most people go through.

It was when she reached her early twenties she found out what she was, what her purpose was and the new life that awaited her, being young and full of life she disliked the idea of being stuck having to protect a singular person. In fact she was bratty about it and she rebelled against it. That was until she met her first charge. A small girl by the name of Lerra, this little girl was naive at best and she saw the world in a distinctive bright beauty that melted the hearts of many around her, this little girl however despite having such a happy nature to her, had no family. They were all dead, so it was up to Sho to protect her and keep her safe from harm. She did her job rather well.

Sho barely changed and this girl grew up, Sho was more like a mother to her so that's the type of bond the two shared. However... This happy peaceful life wouldn't last. Sho stayed young and she watched as Lerra grew up, had a family of her own and eventually grew old and died. Lerras death troubled Sho so much that she fell in to depression, that was until she realized she now had to protect Lerras family.

Sadly, over the space of two thousand years that family eventually died out which left Sho alone once again. Her own family couldn't be found, her mother having died and her older brothers having vanished off the face of Gaia. She lost part of the youthful spark she had once, instead maturing and taking her role a little more seriously. She tried not to get attached to the next people she served.

More years were spent taking on more charges and trying to shape the world in to something better than it was a little at a time. That was until she met one particular man.

He would change her life for both the better and worse. He managed to make a friend of her, he also taught her a lot about humans and other species, about mechanics, about so many other things she hadn't already learned because the man in question lived in Sooso and there was so much technology there that Sho-Zen was a little lost. He taught her all there was to know about the mechanics at that time and he continued to teach her despite her never aging and him aging drastically, and even when he met a woman and married, he still took time to teach Sho, so she stuck by him and his wife, as their protector. Then she became protector for their family as it grew.

After one hundred years however, things began to deteriorate, by the time she'd been serving the family as their protector for five hundred years, she was treated as nothing more than an animal or pet. Given the darkest corner of a cold stone basement floor in darkness until morning with no sheets and simply a few cushions if she was lucky to lay on and ordered around as if she were a slave rather than a guardian. She did as she was told, she endured the beatings, the yelling, their cruel words and insults, each one dying once their time was through and her feeling a tiny bit of happiness and hope that things would change. They didn't change, not for another thousand years. In fact, things became worse, more with the last of the line than anything else, he liked how she looked in human form. He took what he wanted from her saying it was her 'duty' to keep him happy and her 'duty' to keep him from harm so even if he took what he wanted from her she couldn't retaliate or she'd lose her job. So she endured it, tears, pain and everything else.

As time passed after that she was treated no better, he simply took what he wanted from her on more than one occasion, he was a vile man and she wouldn't forgive him, she simply hoped he never bred and luckily she never fell pregnant.

He died recently and with it her duty to that family finally came to an abrupt end. With that she set out once again, she wasn't even left in the will of that family. She got nothing for her suffering but she doesn't mind. She will find a job. Find a charge and she will live. She will live in accordance to her role in this life. Even if she does feel like she's a lesser being.
