Raiden stepped into the shop area and looked around the work area, examining the many tools lining the walls. His left arm was malfunctioning, emitting a low squeaking noise when he moved it. After meeting her earlier in the day, a girl named Sho-Zen-Kah had agreed to look his arm over, so, he showed up about thirty minutes early. He sat in one of the chairs and unbuttoned his duster, letting it drop over the back of the chair, revealing his whole armored body. He turned on a lamp, and lifted his right arm. He clicked his pinky finger down, which activated a small digital display that he could see through his augmented reality chip located in the optic server in his system. He brought up his other arm, wincing at the squeak, and loaded his diagnostic system. He sat patiently, waiting for the system to complete the diagnostic, reflecting on where he was the last year.
The war was over, but the conflict still lingered in the air. His espionage missions became blood baths, the times where his nano machines would "malfunction"...
He closed his eyes, taking a breath and letting his breathing keep his emotions in check. "You're not there anymore, Jack. The fighting is over. No more blood." he let out a breath and opened his eyes, seeing that his diagnostic had completed. No server issues. Satellite communication was fine. The only thing he could see was Internal Issue Within Left Arm. "... The hell does that even mean..." he muttered.

It's getting harder to inhale. A quick fix to clear my secrets. Eyes die alit and stop the winding second hand. It turns the hours into days | |
She was tired, hungry, thirsty and all around in a bad mood. Though not out of anger just out of restlessness and worry, she didn't want to mess this up but she half expected the person whom she was trying to help to berate her for her efforts. It was how things had been for her for the longest time now, almost to the point that she really was losing hope. A sigh escaped her as she strolled along the hallways her arms full of new parts eliciting a few odd looks. God what she had to do to get these parts... It was unsavory at best but sometimes sacrifices have to be made and she was no exception to that rule. Slowly she opened the door to the lab only to be greeted with the fact the man was already here. She looked a mess to be quite honest, tired, weak, half dead but she kept going. How long was it since she last ate or drank anything other than rain water? Oh well, these parts were more important, even if she had to do things to get them. They were more important that her needs. She offered the smallest of smiles before she set the parts down and then she tied her hair back. "Let me change out of this and I'll be right with you." Luckily there was a set of changing rooms near by so now she set the parts down she headed out to those changing rooms, taking a very very fast shower in the process to wash off the smell. She felt so unclean, but oh well. Who really cared? No one. Her problems were her own, she shouldn't plague anyone else with those problems and so she would shoulder them alone. Once she was dressed in a more fitting outfit choice she got to work. Tinkering and messing with his arm looking at parts she brought back and matching them up. The problem was that these parts weren't needed, there were a couple of simple alterations she needed to do and it'd be perfectly fine. Why wouldn't anyone else touch this? Because it was new? Because it was advanced? Once she'd finished she stopped her work and then settled herself down on a chair opposite. "Forgive me if I'm being intrusive... But just where did you get those cybernetics?... I've seen some advanced tech but yours... It seems rather... Unique... It's also easy to see you've had a lot of work done... I won't ask why as everyone's reasons are their own but... That isn't simple tech and it certainly isn't something you could purchase on the high street." She tilted her head a little to one side a bit like an inquisitive cat at the moment, one leg crossed over the other her hands resting on her lap. "Just... How did you get this? Don't worry any secret is safe with me... I don't really have anyone to tell anyway."

Raiden heard her approach, closing out the digital screen and turning around in the chair, leaning back and crossing his arms, the damned squeeak echoing in the empty shop. He winced at the sound, and took a breath. "That's fine. Take your time." he said quietly, watching her walk off to the changing rooms. He heard the shower come on and he stood, pushing a pressure sensitive sensor on his temple to activate his visor, which formed over his eyes with a low whirr. He calibrated his targeting system, his pre-reactive response system, and his free slash sensors. He was able to collect data based on everything he had stored in his memory, and displayed components on all the equipment in the room, schematics, as well as uses (both general and advanced). He heard the shower turn off and turned towards the doorway, seeing her emerge wearing a different outfit. He turned and sat down again, reaching over and pulling another chair towards him, next to his arm. He laid his arm on the table, and allowed her to get to work.
She had repaired the issue without much of an issue, not even needing parts that she had collected for the repair, and began asking questions about where he had gotten them. He was silent, taking in her questions of why he was rejected, why a Sanso Military Cyborg wouldn't be worked on in a land such as Utopia. The older mechanics would fear a glitch in the system, or were afraid that they would damage him. The younger students would turn him away because of lack of experience, though his system was actually fairly simple. He thought for a moment, the pause seeming to ring in the darkness.
"I am a Sanso Military Cyborg, Serial Number #08241963-11212001. My primary function is espionage and reconnaissance, while my secondary function is combat and elimination. I've been on duty, technically for the past twenty seven years, having been a captive child soldier during the Imprisonment Conflict in Sanso. I was liberated and trained in espionage arts, serving the military as their top spy for several years, before I opted to participate in their Cyborg Ninja program. Kind of a super soldier program, though, I was the only participant, as far as I know. I was operated on by the Research and Development Department, and it took me almost three years before I was complete and able to move around, with about six months of rehabilitation to get used to not using just my muscles in movement. This marks the first time I've had a malfunction, though it appears to be mundane."
He gave her a minute to take this all in, looking down towards the table.

She asked a question and got an answer the thing was the answer was extremely in depth when she didn't necessarily need it to be. He could have dodged telling her the truth very easily. "I am a Sanso Military Cyborg, Serial Number #08241963-11212001." She blinked, he was reeling it off that serial number like a robot which worried her a little bit. "My primary function is espionage and reconnaissance, while my secondary function is combat and elimination." With that she arched a brow, who's to say they didn't send him here to gather information on the gemstones which this country housed? Then she shook her head. He wouldn't be telling her this information so freely if that was the case, either that or he'd try and kill her after telling her which wouldn't be pretty for either her or him. " I've been on duty, technically for the past twenty seven years, having been a captive child soldier during the Imprisonment Conflict in Sanso." That, just that one line caused her eyebrows to take a sharp turn downwards towards the middle. Child. She wasn't happy about it and she had half a mind to go and screw up the country for that alone but... She knew it wasn't her duty to do that nor was it a good idea to start a war over something that had long since passed. "I was liberated and trained in espionage arts, serving the military as their top spy for several years, before I opted to participate in their Cyborg Ninja program. Kind of a super soldier program, though, I was the only participant, as far as I know. I was operated on by the Research and Development Department, and it took me almost three years before I was complete and able to move around, with about six months of rehabilitation to get used to not using just my muscles in movement." She scowled, she didn't like the answers she was getting but honestly she wasn't expecting anything pleasant. It was always the case with things like this. "This marks the first time I've had a malfunction, though it appears to be mundane." "If you need any maintenance I'll do it while you stay here. It means you'll have someone on site instead of having to travel all the way back home for something as simple as a tune up or check up." She replied, she'd help him, it was a conscious decision instead of being forced, one of the first proper decisions and offers she'd made since she got away from her own past. "I'll just assume you're here to try and get away from what once was and if that is truly the case here? I'll do my best to help that type of change happen." She leaned back a little tilting her head back to look at the ceiling. "Since Eden is a peaceful place I wouldn't want harm to come to it, at least not while I'm here. Should my particular skill set be needed if people come to try and take you back since that body technically belongs to them? I will keep them at bay should you need to make a quick exit, it doesn't particularly matter if I die in the process, I've lived a long long time so it would be perfectly fine." She nodded, bringing her head back down to look at him and offered a small smile before she slid out of her chair. Standing there she stretched and looked around the room. "I wonder if I could get them to make these labs bigger... Some of the projects the students might want to work on could be much bigger than this lab so it'd be better if they had a large mech lab instead of something medium like this... Hm... I'll have to talk to the principal and school board about that I guess..." She rested her hands on her hips as she surveyed it and then shrugged. "Oh... You're free to go if you want to..." She mused, he may not have agreed to it and she didn't know entirely what he went through or much about him in general but she may have found someone to protect after all, his skill set by the sounds of it could be used to help shape the world rather than destroy it. That was useful but in the same instance it probably wore on his psychological well being, war often did in the case of humans.

Raiden nodded in appreciation, flexing his hand and moving his arm around. He looked down at his arm and then back to her as she spoke. She shared her wish to make the labs bigger, and Raiden looked around, nodding thoughtfully. She told him he was free to go, but he remained in the seat, looking around.
"I might be able to help you out with that. Making the labs bigger. Of course, it would take time, and a lot of requests to the board. But I have the ability and know-how to help you improve this facility." he looked to her and raised his arm up. "Least I could do, considering you helped me with this." he lowered his arm and drummed his fingers on the table. "And you're right. I don't want any part of war anymore. It's changed. Almost to the point to where I can't even recognize it from the terrors I experienced as a child. All in all, I just want to live out my days teaching others to defend themselves. This school is the best for that."

Glancing over towards the white haired cyborg she had to wonder just what parts of him were human and what wasn't. "I might be able to help you out with that. Making the labs bigger." She blinked a moment and tilted her head to one side. "Of course, it would take time, and a lot of requests to the board. But I have the ability and know-how to help you improve this facility." She nodded. It would take a lot of requests but honestly how were students supposed to work on their bigger projects in this tiny place unless she went and actually had a lab built outside of the academy out of her own pocket. "Least I could do, considering you helped me with this." Closing her eyes for a moment she shook her head. "And you're right. I don't want any part of war anymore. It's changed. Almost to the point to where I can't even recognize it from the terrors I experienced as a child. All in all, I just want to live out my days teaching others to defend themselves. This school is the best for that." She gave a grim smile, closing her eyes and nodding. Honestly. With what these kids learned here? This entire country could be it's on military should war break out. A lot of the people here knew how to fight, and fight they would to protect their loved ones and homes. At least, that's what she'd come to realize in the short time she'd been here. "Then perhaps it would be wise to settle down in Eden, I would gladly be your mechanic for as long as I remain useful to you." She stated and then she heard her stomach growl and ignored it. Maybe she should've saved some of that money she made for food for herself? Oh well, she would live, she could live without food if necessary but it would hurt, she would be in a lot of pain because her body would eventually just... Wear down. She wobbled on her feet, had to grab the edge of a table and then she slowly sat down in one of the chairs. Sighing rather deeply she set her head down on the desk and started to close her eyes. "Just... Need to rest for a moment... Then I'll be fine..." Or so she told herself.

"Then perhaps it would be wise to settle down in Eden, I would gladly be your mechanic for as long as I remain useful to you." Raiden took note of her obvious self esteem issues, but registered a look of alarm when he sat her have to steady herself. He stood and took her arm, assisting her as she sat back down. He knelt in front of her and, out of habit, allowed his scanner to do it's job. He scanned and found she was, indeed, weakened. He put his arm on his knee as he deactivated the scanner.
"You're not well. Are you hungry or something?" he looked around. Not much food in the shop. He stood and crossed his arms. "Can't very well keep up with maintenance if you're half starved. I guess I need to help you take care of yourself, too." he dropped his arms and held out a hand. "Come on. Let me at least get you a sandwich or something. You need to get your strength, especially if you're going to teach a class." he looked at her with concern. He had seen half starved children in Sanso. He was one of them, and the feeling of your stomach eating itself was less than pleasant. He saw this pain in her eyes, and couldn't stand to see it.

She noticed him move even felt him help her sit down, he was quick to help it seemed. "You're not well." She gave a light grunt. "Are you hungry or something?" Yes she was but she wasn't going to confirm it. "Can't very well keep up with maintenance if you're half starved. I guess I need to help you take care of yourself, too." She shook her head batting at his hand. Nope. She was staying here. "Come on. Let me at least get you a sandwich or something. You need to get your strength, especially if you're going to teach a class.""I'll be fine. Hunger won't kill me... At least not right away... It takes months..." She stated with a smile and then she closed her eyes again. "I just need to rest a little ... It'll be nice to sleep in a bed after so long." A smile on her face before she slowly pushed herself up to her feet. "But really... I'll be all right... This sensation comes and goes... It'll go away soon. Then everything'll be like normal." Rolling her shoulders she took a couple of deep breaths before she went and took another look at the parts. Trying to busy herself to try and forget about her own condition. Her condition didn't matter so long as she was still of some use to humans. At least that's what she believed. Worthless, her life, her existence, was moot and pointless without having someone to serve. With that thought in the back of her mind she only drifted back to reality to find she was gradually crushing the piece of metal in her hand with raw strength. Something that shouldn't have been easy at least not for a human being but she wasn't human was she? No. She was a mutt. Nothing more a dog that was there to serve as mans protector. "...You know... I really hate what I am sometimes..." It came from nowhere, yet it was the truth. "I'm going to go and sleep for a while... It should help... I'll be able to hold out till I get paid... Till then I'll just endure this, it isn't as though it's never happened to me before."

Raiden's hand was swatted away, but he just let it rest on the table. She was stubborn, sure, but she had her reasons.
"No worries, I won't push it. Just seems to me like you're not one to accept help from anyone else, that much." he said, crossing his arms again. "Since I'm going to be here for a while, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be useful to me." he said. "But, you got to let me do something in return. Like fixing up your lab, being a guinea pig for classes, anything, really. I don't mind helping."
He tapped his visor back down, reading a message, and then tapped the visor back up. "How about this. Get some rest, and, since I don't have a class tomorrow, I'll swing by and see if I can't help fix some of this up. Least I can do, since I'll be coming to you for repairs and tuneups. The Red Zone can get squirrely from time to time." he said, uncrossing his arms and holding out a hand. "I can't let anything go unpaid."
He felt like, in a way, she had no problem helping anyone. But when it came to being helped in any way, Raiden was taught to never leave a debt unpaid. No matter what.
Of course, paying back debts usually meant that he didn't want anything unresolved in case someone came looking for him.
