Riku made his way to the house he had learned his brother was staying in. They hadn't talked in a while and he thought it'd be a good idea to catch up wit him. After all a lot could have changed in the course of a few months. After all things had definitely changed for him. After all he definitely hadn't been planning on being married at the beginning of the year. Not that he was complaining. After all even though Yuki could be a handfull he had put up with Sora for years and was used to hyperactive people. Hopefully Rai would be better off then he was the last time they saw each other.
When he reached the door to the house his brother was staying at he knocked on it and waited for his brother to answer. He was really hoping that they could start to mend their relationship. Especially since he hadn't seen Ri in quite some time and Rai was his only other family here.

Rai was shaken awake by the sound of knocking, rolling out of bed and yawning. He sat up, grabbing the faded pair of jeans from the foot of the bed and slipping them on, shoving his feet into a pair of untied, unzipped tactical boots he was issued by the Guard. He grabbed two sodas out of his mini fridge, and yawned as he hopped down the stairs one foot at a time, stepping up to the front door and stretching. After a second, he took a breath, knowing damn well who this was, and opened the door, holding out the soda (their favorite, if Riku hadn't changed his tastes), and nodding towards the parlor. "Come on in, I guess." He would step into the parlor, sitting in a big, comfortable chair (usually, Eris' chair) and propping a foot up on the foot rest. He would pop the metal cap off the bottle with the toe of his boot and take a drink, clearing his throat when the fizzy liquid went down.
"I'm sure you're not here because anyone in our family's died. So, have a seat, we'll talk stuff out." he would say, setting the soda on the end table and motioning to the loveseat perched a few feet away. "What's been up these past months, brother?"

He took the offered soda and nodded in thanks as he followed his brother into the parlor and sat down on the love seat that was gestured to him. He left his drink closed for the time being though. "Not too much. Well besides the thing with me sort of being married. Not to mention apparently having a vampire interested in me as well. But other then that not too much has happened." He stopped there for a moment pausing to open his own soda and take a drink from it and then setting it down on the floor next to him.
"So what about you? You don't seem as wound up as you were last time."

"That's because I was on a verge of a breakdown. Still dunno why, guess it could be just because our Father and I don't see eye-to-eye anymore... Just recently told him that I enlisted with the Royal Guard and he proceeded to tell me everything that was wrong with that decision and why I shouldn't be making decisions." he shrugged. "I guess you can't please everyone, but, then again, I don't want to please anyone except for my Captain." he finished his sentence and took a drink, leaning forward and taking his foot off of the footrest. "Yeah, the marriage thing... I mean, if you love the girl, then I'm happy for you. If it's some scheme where she's got a mafia style family that'll hang you and your bowels out of the 2nd Street Cathedral window if you don't marry her, then tell me where and when, and we'll fix that issue." he smirked at his last statement, and set his drink down.
"Honestly, all I needed was to be free from beneath our Father's thumb. I wanted to be free, and, no offense, be more than just one of the 'Riplets. I want to be my own person. I cut my hair, worked out some more, changed my overall appearance just to separate myself from being a triplet. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind being your brother, but when people start acting bumfuzzled as to why we're so different, it kind of grinds my gears." he leaned back, drumming his fingers on the arm of the chair, awaiting his brother's response.

Riku could understand where his brother was coming from with the being an individual thing and how people acted when they saw the different attitudes. At times it really did get quite annoying. He chuckled a bit at the part on the marriage thing. "Yea it's nothing like that. The issue is a little complicated but it's nothing where my life's in danger if I don't go through with it. Not that there's any reason I wouldn't." He paused for a moment before continuing.
"As for the thing with dad I just think he doesn't want to see you putting yourself in harms way. I mean I know neither mom nor dad are going to be happy when they hear about my situation. But we're both legally adults. So it's our right to decide what we want to do with our lives. Even if Dad doesn't agree with your decision just so you know I'm proud of you. At least your getting out more often. Even if it's not in the safest way."

Rai smiled a bit, setting his now empty bottle on the end table, leaning back and kicking his feet up. He crossed his arms and looked up to the ceiling, thinking deeply for a moment. This was a new turn in both their lives, and, if things went the way he thought, it'd be a long time before he could spend time with Riku and Ri like this again. He took a breath and looked at Riku.
"C'mon. Let's go for a walk. Maybe we can go pick up your fiance and get dinner or something. My treat."
He stood and grabbed his hoodie, throwing it on and leaving it unzipped. He grabbed his sword and hooked it to his belt, and went to the door. "Let's go. We got eighteen years of brother shit to catch up on."

Riku thought that a walk sounded like a good idea. It'd be an ideal way to spend time together plus they'd be able to get exercise well they were at it. It would be a good way to relieve stress as well without resorting to trying to cut each other up. He also wouldn't object to his brother buying him and his fiance dinner if they were to do that. Though they could do that at another time. For the time being he just wanted to spend time reconnecting with his brother.
"We don't have to invite Yuki along for dinner or anything like that this time around. For now just the two of us having a talk as we walk around is good enough." Stands up to follow after him.

Rai glanced at Riku. He didn't want to bring Yuki along, huh? He shrugged, not really caring about why, but he gave a nod in understanding.
"Fine with me, either way." he walked up to his room, motioning for Riku to stay downstairs for the moment. He grabbed a shirt, slipped it on, and then put his jacket on, grabbing a pair of socks on his way out. He taped a note to his door
Went out with brother.
and went down the stairs, kicking his boots off to slip a pair of socks on. "And the thing about father is that you don't know all he's said to me. You know he hates military. You know he wants all three of us to graduate as scholars and take on things that will bring honor to the family name. He's so honor driven, I don't know why the old man won't do something about it himself. It's like he never wanted to tell us why he wanted us to do great things, just that in the long run we were doing them for him, not ourselves. But, then again, this is just my opinion. You and Ri both know that father and myself haven't seen eye to eye in a lot of things for a long time."
He slipped on his boots over his socks, leaving them unzipped, and stood, shifting his feet around to get comfortable.
"It's why you're his favorite, though he'd never admit it." Rai said this with a grim smirk, patting Riku on the shoulder before stepping out the front door. Their father always seemed to share his love for his sons on different levels, in Rai's opinion. They were born, literally, in the order of Riku, Rai, and Ri, and, though on the outside it was evident that Raiku Sinclair loved his sons, Rai always fell as the least favorite. Of course, Rai was the only one out of the three who would stand toe to toe with their father when they disagreed on something, which caused Rai to never bother to even go home for the holidays.
"But, anyways, how did you and your lady meet?" with that, he swiftly and decisively changed the subject, showing no more interest in speaking of their father. If Riku wanted to pursue the conversation further, Rai wouldn't have many issues going back, but it was clear that merely speaking of their father was souring the middle 'Riplet's mood.
