Desks, blackboard, chalk...All of this was so..conventional. Though, Kurama wasn't sure what else he was expecting. Honestly, for a class like this, a live specimen would have been best. A volunteer, or perhaps some unfortunate victim who deserved no better fate than to be poked and prodded and tested upon. Hands-on learning was, after all, the best way to learn.
People always had, in their minds, a version of themselves. From this version they could guess how they would react to one situation or another. The odd fact of the matter was that few people actually knew themselves as well as they thought they did. Sure, someone might think themselves to be a hero, someone who was a valiant saviour, or someone calm under pressure, ready with a pithy come-back when necessary...
These versions of themselves were usually grossly inaccurate. It was the idyllic version of self. The self that they wished they were, or the self that they one day wished to be.
Ultimately, there was no way to know how one would react to the sight of blood, or to a mangled limb, or to a slashed-open chest. One might think that he or she knew how they'd react, but, until faced with the real thing, all judgments made belonged only to their conception of self.
Sadly, there were inherent ethical issues in bringing in a real victim. He supposed that he'd just need to work around it.
He slipped on the lab coat which had been, helpfully, left for him, and turned to face the class as they filed in. "Welcome to Medical Training," he greeted, kindly. "My name is Kurama Minamino and I'll be your instructor for this class. The usual lab rules apply: no food or drink, especially when we'll we working with certain chemicals, keep long hair tied back," he gestured briefly at his own mane of red hair, which had been restrained into a simple ponytail. "And for goodness sake, if you don't know what it is, don't taste it," he said, with the tone of someone who had experienced that awkward situation more than once.
"Now, I'd just like a quick introduction from each of you, followed by why you wanted to take this class. "

Was there such a thing as being too early or being too late for a class at this point? Well that was a silly question because there was a thing such as being too late, but here at this time, the student teacher wasn't sure what she would be at this point. She had been near the classroom for a bit, but she hadn't entered because she didn't want to be there before the teacher and everything else because it would be a little odd for her to be in there without the teacher. However when she noticed the fact that the teacher was in the room she would actually go in and she would look around for a moment or two and then would listen to what the teacher was saying, tilting her head to the side for a moment because it seemed like they wanted to make everything as blunt as possible and everything, as if they wanted everything to be simple and to the point. Though she would just mentally shrug at it because it was almost all common sense that he was talking about. And then there was the reason why people wanted to take this class and everything. ...Was that really all that important? Wouldn't it be different for each person and everything like that? Though that could be the point.
Though she really didn't need to think about it at all, she was simply waiting for the teacher to be done talking before she would say anything. "It was a simple choice for me as I wanted, or rather still want to learn how to be able to help people by knowing how to tend to the wounded and the ill. ...After all I have been surrounded by such things as my father was more or less eaten alive by creatures. So...That's about it for me as to why I'm taking this class. Just wanting to be able to help people. Also, I'm Caroline and I'm the Student Teacher for this class." It was a little odd of an answer, but it was the truth. She did want to be able to help people and everything, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal to answer like that, right? It was honest. Unless of course it meant that she was going to get picked apart because her answer wasn't up to snuff or something like that. But that would be a little harsh if she did get picked apart for it all, but it was what it was really. So now all she could really do is wait and see what might happen with everything and the other students and everything else.

| Kids with dad's bit on the side for today while she, Sting and Nyth had classes? Check. Looking at least somewhat awake? Check. Notebooks? Check, check, check, check. She went through her mental list ticking things off. The one thing she forgot however was to tie her hair up so she did that on the way to class, including tying the bits that hung down around her face at the front back in to the ponytail. As soon as she got in to class, she went and settled herself down behind a desk, her bag being set down rather gently. Today she'd chosen to wear something a little [Different] to what she'd usually be found wearing around. It was odd to see her dress so feminine, especially given a few months prior she wouldn't be seen dead in frills. "Welcome to Medical Training. My name is Kurama Minamino and I'll be your instructor for this class. The usual lab rules apply: no food or drink, especially when we'll we working with certain chemicals, keep long hair tied back," She already had hers tied back so it wouldn't be an issue. "And for goodness sake, if you don't know what it is, don't taste it. Now, I'd just like a quick introduction from each of you, followed by why you wanted to take this class." She shrugged a but and then she waited. A ginger haired woman was the first to start. Also, I'm Caroline and I'm the Student Teacher for this class." Well then. That was certainly something. Rowe now stood up, she may as well make this as quick as possible. "I'm Rowe, I'm a third year, I'm also a dragon and a mother of four. Took this class originally because I figured it was useful knowledge to have especially given this day and age. People get hurt all over the place from spell slinging or sword fighting. My dad works as security if I recall rightly here on campus. Not sure what else to say other than that." She sat herself back down, now, anyone who did their research on her would find her dad was Glaciaconis and was in fact a King which by default made her a princess, yet she'd failed to mention it and on good reason. She wasn't stupid enough to go blabbing she was actually royalty. With how many other royals were around it would likely put her and others in danger. She didn't understand WHY so many royals went around blabbing they were royalty unless they either wanted the attention for their title or they were incredibly stupid, because even with the powers that be looking over this city, they could still be killed just as easily as no one always keeps an eye on the royals. She now went on to doodle on the first page of her blank notebook as she awaited the other students saying their piece. |
