PERSONALITY TRAITS

Lily is a rather calm and soft spoken young woman. She hardly ever raises her voice because she doesn't really see the need to, and she likes to have conversations with people. She can be a good listener and even will try to talk people through their troubles or just be there if she can be to help them through something. All in all she is a rather kind young woman that tries her best despite her blindness since birth. Because of this some people that have known her would say that she's a strong person because she never let it get her down, but she doesn't really agree with that. She simply never let her
blindness get in the way of her life.

Though under all of this, she is rather afraid that she won't be able to pull through everything, ad that she will come to a point that she won't be able to help herself or keep herself going without help. And while she doesn't mind asking for help from time to time, she always feels like a burden on people that happen to help her because of her blindness. While she doesn't let this show on the surface it does eat at her. And because of this she will try to help these people that help her so that she isn't just a burden on them because she was raised to make sure that keeping her manners and doing what she can to help others should be one of the biggest things that she should be doing.

While in public she tends to have a gentle and calm smile on her face even though her gaze is usually kept to the front or she even has her eyes closed. She tends to be rather friendly and easy to approach to talk with. She is rather defensive of her younger brother and her family, but that's because she feels like that she needs to be because they are all she really has. She has never held grudges or anything of the like to those that made fun of her or called her anything bad because she feels that it wouldn't really help things if she did get angry. While it does hurt to hear the insults and everything, she doesn't act out about it. Because she doesn't want to cause trouble for herself or anyone else around.

There are ways to get the calm face to melt away into anger. Mostly going after her family and her younger brother. As for other emotions she really doesn't get embarrassed very easily because she's never had a relationship nor does she really know much about such things. If anything she would blindly stumble through the process of getting with someone, though she isn't completely against the idea, but she isn't really sure if she would rather a male or a female suitor and everything else like that.

INTERESTING TRAITS:

• Due to her being blind since birth, all of her other senses are stronger because of it. Her hearing is rather sharp, being able to hear people whispering. Her sense of touch is higher as well. Her sense of smell is also a bit more acute than most humans, but not as much as other races.

• She is almost always calm, she is able to keep this calm because she knows it will allow her to help other people.

• She's a quick learner, which she has used to help herself stand on her own.

• Though she's soft spoken she has a good signing voice.

Lily was the firstborn to two parents that thought they were ready for anything, that thought they could handle whatever might come their way with a child and everything else. Everything was going fine with it all, well save for the normal pains, discomforts, and cravings that a mother would have. However...When Lily was born things hit a rather unseen snag that they weren't expecting. It seemed that Lily was blind, however other than that she was perfectly healthy. The doctors came to this conclusion after some time and after they were able to see her eyes and the fact that they were a clouded silver color. However this didn't cause her parents to be any less happy, though they knew it would be difficult at first. But they were still happy that they brought a new life into the world.

The first couple of years were a little hard for her parents, but they did their best, and a little over two years after she was born her parents had another child, this time it was a healthy male that they named Rowan. Unlike her, Rowan was in perfect health, no blindness, no muteness, nothing like that, just a normal healthy baby. And as she grew older she noticed that her parents were counting on her to help with Rowan, though it was very hard on her because she couldn't really see what she was doing most of the time. It was just something that was and she couldn't really do anything about it and it was here and now that the seed of the thoughts that she was just a burden started to take hold. And its something that she still has in her mind to this day.

However because of the fact that her parents were always working, or what seemed like always, because their mother would travel around for work and her father had a job in the city, which he got after they moved to Eden after they had Rowan. But, because of this she was forced to mature quickly so that she was able to help take care of Rowan. And then when school started for them both some of the kids would poke fun at her for how strange her eyes were and that they didn't really get why they were like that and everything else. She never really got upset at the other kids because they didn't know any better at that point, but as she got older and the poking, taunts, and insults continued she started to realize that they were doing it to get a reaction out of her, but she would simply smile and keep calm about it all. Though she knew that Rowan wasn't happy with it and that would get him into trouble from time to time.

They would even start going to the Academy when they were old enough and thankfully most of the poking and taunting was done by this point, but the thoughts of her being more of a burden than a help seemed to have been growing because thanks to her better hearing she could hear her parents talking from time to time. Saying that it was difficult to have a blind child, and even though she had done a lot to help them she could understand how they felt about it all. Though because of everything, she more or less felt like she needed to be able to stand on her own, to make sure that she wasn't a burden on anyone else, and she was still going to try to help Rowan and her parents, because they were all she really had. She never really tried the whole dating thing, not really knowing what she would like, and it was hard for her because she wasn't really sure what she even looked like.

All in all she keeps a calm and gentle look about her, even though deep down she does feel a little alone because of everything that had happened. Though she had spent time practicing her singing voice and everything as she would sing Rowan to sleep when they were younger and she felt like it was something that she could actually be good at if she practiced. So now, she still goes to the Academy, still keeping the calm look and tries to stay out of trouble, but she'll drop the calmness if anything threatens her family, even if she can't really do much she would try to help them.
