While the soft-spoken part may be true, the girl is actually quiet talkative and more upbeat than she looks, although she can come off as awkward and can say some of the strangest things at the weirdest times. Her attention can be quickly diverted to something if she's interested in it, be it something small like a flower on the sidewalk or something worth noting like an announcement of some sort. During a conversation, she can be a bit slow on the upkeep of information, plus she often takes metaphors too literally until told otherwise. Needless to say... she's strange, but she doesn't let it get her down. HISTORY Tanome's memory of before she was eight is very fuzzy, if not completely forgotten by her. The clearest memory she can recall is being in an orphanage with a bunch of kids. She isn't sure how long she had been there, but the records do. She lived there since she was six, dropped off by her father due to reasons that even he would not fully disclose, sticking to the story that it was 'for her own good'. Since then, the orphanage wasn't able to get in contact with her father or her mother. However, not long after she turned nine, a man named Caleb came one day and took a shine to her. A couple of days later, he adopted her into his small family, finding he himself had a daughter that was about four years older than Tanome. The girl was rather quiet at first, overwhelmed at how new everything was. Although her new dad was trying to be as social as he could, he still had a job to do, which left her with her new sister and, for a couple of years, a baby-sitter. But even then, her adoptive sister, whom she quickly learned was Serah, was the one who really brought Tanome out of her shell. She included her 'little sis' in a lot of things she did, only leaving her out when she wanted some alone time. This included going out with some of her friends, playing games together, and even laying in bed while reading a book. Their dad would dare say they got close quicker than he did with his own daughter. At twelve, Tanome's dad was having some trouble with the TV and, instead of calling a repair-man, stripped off the back and started messing with it himself. His attempts failed, eventually 'considering' calling someone to fix it for him. However, as he left the set alone and walked into another rom, Tanome walked up to it and started to look at it, following taking some parts out, moving some wires, rearranging some other stuff, then putting it back together. It was by the time that she was putting in the final piece that her dad came in and saw her, getting her away from the TV and telling her it was 'dangerous to mess with it'. The girl's response? "But I fixed it." He didn't really believe it, but he was telling her it wasn't as simple as it looked and pressed the power to show her she likely didn't do much, it turned on without any trouble and the picture was as clear as day. A year later, Serah was having a tough time getting her computer together after finding some new parts and the manual was hard for her to read. Tanome took note of what she was doing, and offered to help. Serah just laughed saying, "Sure, if you can make sense of this stuff, go right ahead." It was meant to be a joke, but as her lil' sis took a look at the manual, the computer, then the parts, the paper wasn't even needed. The girl was able to gut out the old parts, install the new, then run the computer like it had no choice but to obey. It goes without saying that Serah was pretty impressed. By sixteen, her dad had started looking into other schools for Tanome, and even Serah, to go to as he wanted them to get the best out of their education in as much time they had. After some extensive research, he found Eden Academy and suggested this school to his girls. Serah seemed hesitant, but Tanome really liked what she was seeing and wanted to go there as quickly as possible. However, they lacked the money at the time, so after nearly a year of saving, Tanome was able to enroll as a second year.
